Unfortunately there was something else in the case far more incriminating which Chris failed to spot and he is under pressure from Zoe to find evidence which will put the Sarkissians behind bars.
- Undercover cop Chris, engaged in Operation Piccolo, is investigating the Sarkissians, an Armenian criminal family, but is less than cheered to learn that his new handler Zoe lost a man on her last case. The Sarkissians are anxious to unmask the crooked accountant who is cheating them but Chris points them towards an obnoxious innocent rather than the like-able culprit. Unfortunately the family head Ara orders Chris to kill him but he is bailed out by an unfortunate accident. There is, however, compensation in the form of Ara's glamorous niece Lara.
- Frustrated by Chris's incompetence at gathering any damning information on the family Zoe gives him a wire concealed in a watch and sends him after loose cannon Tommi, an Armenian gangster just out of jail in the hopes that he will incriminate himself and the other gang members. Unfortunately Tommi's wild behaviour causes a rift between Arno and Ara and he is found murdered before Chris can get anything out of him. Furthermore the watch, which Tommi took from Chris, is now in Ara's possession.
- Zoe is unhappy when obnoxious DCI Langdon, annoyed at the lack of progress in Operation Piccolo, takes over and interviews Stepan, who was caught with guns and drugs in his car. In court Stepan, misunderstanding Chris's advice, represents himself and things look bad for him. Lara, convinced of Stepan's innocence, asks Chris to help clear his name but it is Zoe, having discovered that Langdon frames Stepan, who causes the case to collapse. Still believing she has Chris to thank Lara duly rewards him.
- When Ara is shot and wounded by a sniper the family suspects Christophe, but he turns out to be another, considerably more efficient, undercover cop - and Zoe's boyfriend. To save him Chris gets Zoe to pull him out and then claims to have killed and buried him. However the real sniper is still at large - as Chris well knows.
- With big boss Yurik arriving to name his successor Zoe feels this is the perfect opportunity to nail the whole gang. Unfortunately Chris accidentally runs Yurik over and Zoe gets captured by the Sarkissians. Chris is almost exposed as her contact but saved when Lara announces that she is pregnant by and is going to marry Chris. Chris manages to save Zoe but to bring Operation Piccolo to an end he must now become the son-in-law of the fearsome Raffi, the new head of the Sarkissians.
- Newlyweds Capt Joe Martin and his wife Honor arrive in the British colony of Aden where he is to replace a much-loved captain. Lt Ed Laithwaite meets an NLF informant who warns of an attack.
- The Royal Military Police must assist special forces on a dangerous mission. Mary Markham experiences complications with her baby's birth and Alison introduces Honor to the BP Club.
- Captain Martin meets with American journalist Martha Franklin to demand she hand over incriminating evidence. Christmas celebrations at the base are cut short by a shocking discovery.
- The RMP begin their desperate search. Tilbrook takes Markham to visit an important prisoner. Alison confides in Honor about her affair and can't go on with her pregnancy.
- The NLF want to make a trade. Alison watches over Ed, feeling conflicted about their marriage. Yusra smuggles a coded message to Armstrong and Joe decides to go against his orders.
- Joe's future in the Army hangs in the balance as Honor struggles to cope with the revelations about his past. Markham is torn between his duty and his conscience and Armstrong fears for Yusra's safety.
