- [The Last Mermaid] (1997) Beta 12 min. From an instauration of artist Tunga, the characters, five mermaids, embody beings with strange behavior. The video penetrates the liquid state of feminine condition.
- [U-Matic] - 47 minutes. Video of great visual impact. Images of fire, inside of which three series of images are interrelated: a) cows are butchered in a slaughterhouse, shown in every detail until the total deconstruction of their shape. b) strange characters taken from the street Carnival of Rio de Janeiro in the seventies. c) family films from the 20s and 30s, shot by the authors grandfather. Everything is devoured by fire, an element of ritual regeneration and destruction.
- [The Silver Nerve] (1987) U-Matic 20 min. The unusual and paradoxical universe of artist Tunga is seen through his own sculptures, mixing archaic emotions and a light high-tech feeling. The spectator is thrown into a tunnel without beginning or end, where extremely unusual scenes involving Siamese twins tied by the hair and braided snakes take place.
- [The Ascent of Mario, The Painter] (1996) - Beta - 13 min. The Italian painter Mario Schifano wishes to paint white a small house in a violent favela of Rio de Janeiro a work aimed at giving a social function to art. Ecstasy in the heart of darkness. A meditation on the nature of modern art and the different point of view between first and third worlds. The video shows the slow and mythical ascent of the favela stairway that leads to the top of the hill. Mario enters a gradually stranger and different from his expectations. His initial project acquires a new meaning. Minimalist video, composed of one single action, going up the steps, with a soundtrack by the late avant-garde master Giacinto Scelsi a single musical note repeated in diverse instrumental combinations.
- In this "fake documentary", a doctor returns to Brazil after his studies in Paris. Setting out to practice Medicine, he becomes an indigenous messiah and, in time, a cannibal.
- [U-Matic] 28 min. The European sculptor preparing an exhibition in Rio de Janeiro. His work consists of figurative recycling of discarded material. This video, 13 years later, was restored in a new version, using the VHS original version in a recycling of its own deteriorated material to produce a radically different work.
- [Muybridge/Beethoven] (1997) 11 min. Bodies in fight. Decomposed movements. Beethovens nine symphonies are fragmented like a sequence of Muybridge, chord after chord, interspersed by silences. - [The Vacations of a Private Eye] (1994) Beta 18 min. When an investigator goes on vacation, anything can happen. The world becomes a territory of enigmas. Sculptures and installations of artist Milton Machado, a reenacted created by the no-holds-barred camera of Arthur Omar, amplifying the artists strange logic to the max. The video travels to the clouds, visits factories, takes an airplane and penetrates the eye of a mysterious drummer who plays among Greek statues.
- [Dreams and Ghost Stories] (1996) - Beta -45 min. Black roots and savage psychoanalysis. Experimental, documental, black to the bone. A quilombo in the hinterland of Minas Gerias, slow-paced, inhabited by old men connected to the old tradition. A funky favela in Rio de Janeiro, fast-paced, young, no ties to the past. Community pressure and metaphorical ecstasy in a purely sensorial language. Electronic politics.
- [Skidding in Eden] (1997) - Beta - 14 min. . Shot in Oporto, Portugal. Some installations by artist Cildo Meireles are disassembled so that their elements can be reused in the video, in an original creation. Questions referring to art, photography, money and velocity appear and disappear, leaving no traces or explanations. Art is treated as a kind of skidding, an accident faster than the possibility of dealing with it.

- [The Sound, or Treatise on Harmony] (1984) - 35mm - 16 min. A film about the desire of listening. An intermingling of voices from childhood, dreams, history, sex and politics. A visual essay about the universe of sounds. What is sound? What is the sound experience? Sound placed and replaced as Energy. Nothing more should be said. The final conclusion, while the spectator flies over an infinite sea, talks about spreading fragility open. That is the Sound.
- [The Coronation of a Queen] (1993) Beta 26 min. The Coronation Ceremony of 65-year-old Queen Alzira, in the matriarchal black community of Jatobá, in the outskirts of Belo Horizonte, Brazil . Kings and queens in a slow and melancholic parade though empty streets. A video made in the point of view of Our Lady of the Rosary.
- [Treasure of Youth] (1977) - 35mm - 14 min. An homage to Alberto Cavalcanti and his film EnRade. A film about the movement of everything, done in the style of the lyrical documentaries of the 20s, which, by means of editing, were designed to produce an emotional impact on the spectator through unexpected relationships of sound and image, devoid of plot or message. The youth of image and the treasure of sound. The image pulsates through the visual photographic effects. The electronic music is by Arthur Omar.
- [The Logic of Ecstasy] (1998) 17 min. The video continues the investigations on the relationship between body and art, fashion and thought. The texture of fabrics and the visual texture become one surface. The female body is shown in an abstract and ecstatic way. Third installment on the trilogy about art&fashion.
- Massaker! (1997) 11 min. The arrival of Michael Jackson in Morro Dona Marta, Rio de Janeiro, and other kinds of massacres. Part of an installation to be watched by people on ergometric bicycles. The relationship between violence, parties and the rituals of mass culture mingled with surreal scenes. Brief dark intervals with images to the rhythm of gunshots and screaming: Massaker! - [The Castle Resists] (1995) - Beta -14 min. Conversation with Chilean filmmaker Raul Ruiz. He talks about manipulation, hyperthyroidism, Giordano Bruno, sacrifices, dreams, simulators, tunnels and souls, and the transformation of the massacre in landscape. Shot in Rio de Janeiro, in Arthur Omars home, while both directors were watching TV.
- [Acts of Diamond] (2000) 6 min. The video explores the relationship between social violence and aesthetics through digital video technology and violent images. It is a re-reading of Latin American muralism, in which the mannerist postures of the slaughtered bodies work as elements that provoke beauty and horror.
- [Resurrection] (1989) - 35mm - 6 min. A montage of photographs (from police archives and newspapers) of tortured and murdered victims from the slums of Rio de Janeiro. The strange positions of the slaughtered bodies give a critical meaning to two traditional religious hymns that sing praise to the glory of God and the Virgin Mary. The strange postures of the mutilated bodies establish an ironical meaning to the traditional verses, while the voices of singers Agnaldo Timóteo and Ângela Maria add a pathos of deliriously popular, in an atmosphere of joy and triumph of the Virgin Mary. Film-shock. Basically an investigation about the force of gravity upon dead bodies. A small hymn of love to the mannerist art of sixteenth century.
- [The Year of 1798] (1975) - 35mm - 15 min. Experimental. Investigates an historical fact called The Rebellion of the Tailors, in Bahia, 1798. Removed from its context, the brutally repressed uprising is given a new interpretation. In the middle of everything, fours characters who cannot escape History.
- [Continuous Infinity] (1999) Beta 36 min. A video documenting the lab work of the images that compose Antropologia da Face Gloriosa. We watch the instant when the pictures are picked up from the bathtubs and hung up at daylight.
- [Words in the Studio, An Afternoon with Eduardo Sued] (2000) Digital 60 min. An afternoon in the studio of painter Eduardo Sued, a character-narrator that webs stories and ideas in a dialogue provoked by Arthur Omar. The video films words in pure state, giving embodiment and matter to the artists speech. Sued, like you have never seen before.
- [Mr. Serafim] (1971) - 35mm - 10 min. / new version 6 min. A carnival-like, supersynthetic, non-authorized adaptation of the Oswald de Andrade novel. Oswaldean theory and practice in a film without models.
- [Drum Spots] (1996) - Beta - 40 min 16 episodes with duration between 1 and 6 min. The drum, in small electrifying units. The ideas of the masters, the beats, the mystique. A percussive set of videos. Each episode has its own style, sometimes documental and direct, sometimes completely experimental and abstract. Includes popular expression like capoeira, congada, candomblé, etc, sometimes showing the work of individual drummers such as Reppolho and Ba Mamour, to arrive at the destruction of all stereotypes used to address black culture in Brazil. - [Anothomy of an Exhibition] (1999) Beta 60 min. The author comments, one by one, all the pictures that compose Antropologia da Face Gloriosa, shown at CCBB. Informal camera by Luis Felipe Sá. Verbal improvisation. Non-existent editing.
- [The Teddy Bear] (1999) Beta 16 min. A cat and a teddy bear on a kitchen floor. The search for the other in a Biblic sense in the name of Love. Impossible love between two beings from different species. Two different realms of nature having non-stop, 100% explicit sex. Filmed in an uncut 16-minute-long shot-sequence.

The author spins a web of audiovisual relationships starting from elements in the performance of the artist Cabelo women wearing false pregnant bellies and from the music of Naná Vasconcelos.
