- Fate/strange fake is a light novel from the Fate franchise that takes place in an alternate universe, where various factions fight for the Holy Grail in a fictional US town called Snowfield. The story begins with the participation of a new Servant, called False Archer, who belongs to the Church faction. With its appearance, several other factions are forced to reveal their Servants and participate in the fight for the Holy Grail. Throughout the story, characters engage in epic, strategic battles as they try to uncover the secrets behind the Holy Grail and the town of Snowfield. In addition to these characters, there are several other Servants and Masters involved in the story, each with their own motivations and agendas. The story is full of twists and turns, with characters fighting not only for the Holy Grail, but also for their own personal vendettas and secret goals. A plot involves conspiracies, mysteries and supernatural elements, including the presence of beings known as "False Servants", which are creatures that take the form of true Servants. The story also explores themes such as the nature of humanity and the quest for power, as the characters fight for survival in the midst of a deadly battle.

The Grails, which are capable of granting any wish, are also able to sustain abnormalities that threaten humanity's existence
- The game is a spin-off of the visual novel Tsukihime. In the beginning of August 2001, Shiki Tohno hears of a new series of murders in Misaki Town, similar to the ones that took place in Tsukihime, in the last weeks of October 1999.
