- A Woman Called Smith 9.50pm BBC2 United only by their sex and their surnames, the women who contribute to this series of ten-minute snapshots are as diverse as the experience of womanhood itself. Each woman reveals a life event which is both uniquely personal to her and yet universal to all women. The series begins with Sarah who believes that despite her name "I'm different from everybody else," because she is a competitive ballroom dancer. She is also 20 years old and the mother of a five-year-old son, born when she was just 14. Dressed in full Come Dancing regalia, she looks older than she should but acts exactly like the youngster she is.
