When the Doctor recovers, he and Jo are joined by a task-force of Thals and a native Spiridon named Wester. They not only set out to stop he Daleks' evil plot, they also discover an army of 12,000 Daleks are in suspended animation and are waiting to be revived to begin their universal conquest and claim themselves as the supreme rulers of the galaxy.
- While the Doctor carries out an investigation into ESP, Mike Yates asks Sarah to look into some strange goings on at a meditation centre he's attending.

The Doctor emphasizes that they must not interfere with Aztec rituals, something that does not sit well with Barbara.
- The Doctor and Peri get involved with drug running after landing on the twin planet of Androzani Minor and getting arrested as gun runners and targeted for execution. Not before Peri stumbles into some highly toxic and lethal plant life.
