Spoiler Alert - Great movie!!!
4 December 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of an handful of movies I can watch time and time again, it never shows its age. Its always Christmas once I have watched this or should say feels like the holidays once I have watched it Frank Capras film shows us why is one of the most popular and enduring festive films of all time, with its gloriously sentimental testament to homely small-town moral values and how we all influence each others life's along the way and what would happen if fate was given a nudge in a different direction.

James Stewart gives one of his finest, most affecting performances, though he was always great at portraying the everyman character that most people can relate to, even us outside the US. This film and Scrooge and Christmas Carol (the George Minter one from the 1950's) are my all time favourite feel good Christmas movies, though I have Elf on here as well. Overall its a great film and I am amazed to know it bombed at the box office, even though its now a well loved classic.

It was a decent film, Lake Bell nails the English accent
4 December 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Spoiler alert - I have watched this movie a couple of time and found it pleasant to watch, namely as I have had a crush on Lake Bell for ages , but she did a English accent so convincing, which few Americans can really pull off.

Its a nice comedy with hints of romance, however it is a little off real life, no one can drink as much as they do on this film and not be lying in a cutter somewhere with last nights kebab plastered to their face, they drink loads with out the effects I get, plus at the end he gets to sleep with Nancey, after one date, thats never happened to me anyway.

Plus points: Lake Bell, lake Bell, Lake bell Rory Kinners loathsome character, who was funny, oh and Lake Bell. Overall its a nice film

Night of the Demon
1 February 2006
This was one of the first "horror" films that I watched as a kid and I remember that I slept with the light on for weeks, it was not like the recent horror films filled with gore and splatter, but its the indication of the terror that makes it scary. I recall that there was a chase scene where the demon is chasing Dana Andrews in a car, and i remember that he plays some one who ridicules the occult which makes the satanic leader mark him to be killed by a demon, I would hope that they do not remake this films has with all remakes you can't beat the original. The only same film that has that foreboding feeling to it would be something like the Blair witch Project, which has that creepy feeling akin to when I first saw the Omen. It does'NY have lost of blood or gore in it but the film is still one of my all time fav horror/suspense films.

Portrait Of Jennie
1 February 2006
I had only seen this film only the once, until recently and I recall it was on a rainy Sunday afternoon. I only started watching this film has there was not much else on, however when it had finished, i wanted to watch it again, and stayed up late so that i could watch the repeat showing.what make this stand out was the other world feeling of it,the photography, the feel of New York in a bygone era, and the music,Debussey, which is haunting adds to the overall ambiance,It is in essence a love story which transcends time and , is told with tenderness and beauty. It's mood lingers in the heart and its planes challenge the mind. It always leaves a void when the film ends and i can truly feel Ebans pain at losing Jennie. You can read into a lot of metaphorical stuff in the film and the book - cleverly done. The ending is both heartening yet crucifying, emotionally a story of two star crossed lovers, The overall realisation that through the barrier of time love is enduring and never ending, a wonderful film which is a must for all romantics out there. Highly recommended.
