Interview with the Vampire (2022)
Different from movie but still as good
I was a little hesitant going into this because I was a big fan of the movie, Interview with the Vampire. I thought there's no way anyone's going to be able to do it better than Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt, two of the best actors there are. Well, somehow this show was able to be almost as good, maybe even better than the movie. I've never seen Jacob Anderson or Sam Reid in anything before besides Anderson as Brey Worm in Game of Thrones so I wasn't familiar with their work. They both played the part of Louis and Lestat perfectly. I blew through the first season in less than two days. Anne Rice, who wrote the book and created these characters, was very hands on for this show and you can tell. I know they just recast the Claudia character but from what I can tell the new actress is even better. Some people (we all know who) don't like the fact that they cast a black actor as Louis which is just ridiculous. These people never fail in bombarding any show that has anyone who's not a straight white man as the lead with negative reviews.
Road House (2024)
Jake and Conor were both great in this
I don't understand the mixed reviews at all. What were you expecting? I think it was more like a 8 but gave it a 10 because of all the ridiculous people giving 1's or 2's. This movie did exactly what it set out to do and that's be a fun popcorn movie. It may not be quite as good as the original but it's close. If you wanted a scene by scene of the original just go watch that. First of all, Jake Gyllenhaal is great in everything he does and this is no different. The thing that impressed me the most was Conor McGregor. He did a great job for his first time acting. I know people either like him or hate him and the people who don't like him have all showed up in these reviews. I don't care if you like him or not he did a good job. If he wasn't one of the most famous fighters in the world and some new actor you haters would've loved him. Yes, he was a villain out of a comic book but that's how he was written and he played the part great. I hope to see him in more movies in the future. Both Jake & Conor put in the work in the weight room too, both have always been in great shape but not like this. This was perfect for a movie to just have fun with and turn your brain off. I'll probably watch it again in the near future.
House of the Dragon (2022)
If you liked the original you'll like this too
This has to be one of the best spinoffs ever made. This is a show where you can't be playing on your phone, cooking dinner or doing something else, it requires your undivided attention. It's a show that never gets stale. I can't remember ever being bored, even for one episode. I loved every second of every episode and I think you will to if you give it a chance. The one thing I didn't like was the time jump came to early. I would've liked to seen more of the earlier episode years. I've already watched this show twice from beginning to end. The new season should be here sometime this summer and I'm sure it'll be just as good as the first.
