The Monkees have survived many logical endpoints. They first seemed like they were done when their TV show went off the air in early 1968, and then again multiple times after: when they disbanded as a recording unit in 1971, when their reunion tours fizzled out amid bitter infighting in the early 2000s, and when Davy Jones died in 2012 and Peter Tork followed in 2019.
But they’re (probably) ending for real this year when surviving members Michael Nesmith and Micky Dolenz head out on a farewell tour. It kicks off September 10th in Spokane,...

Sounds like Kenan (Kenan Thompson) might need to have a chat with his brother/manager Gary (Chris Redd). In a new clip from Tuesday's Kenan, exclusive to E! News, the titular morning show host goes to greet his guest and old friend Sateen (guest star Damon Wayans Jr.), only to discover that the man has really got life figured out. Not only has his industrious manager Various Tucker (Neil Casey) set him up with a rider that guarantees a dressing room full of cool stuff, but he's also got a real estate portfolio and Sateen is becoming the new, "better looking" face of Newman's Own. Kenan, of course, has none of that. "Gotta diversify, man," Sateen tells a...

This show has everything going for it, in fact, it has Too much going for it: tragic drama, silly comedy, bland heart-tugs and saucy romance. Everybody’s working across purposes, with ‘stunt’ guest star Bobby Darin preening for awards attention. Angie Dickinson, Tony Curtis and Eddie Albert are terrific but are acting in different movies; and Gregory Peck seems out of his depth altogether. Does it keep our attention? You bet. Does it work? I’m not so sure.

World conditions make this year’s Grammy voter choices in the visual-media categories somewhat harder to predict, in part because so many of us have been staying home watching television. So while some score nominees are likely to come from late-2019 releases, including Hildur Guðnadóttir’s Oscar-winning “Joker,” John Williams’ “StarWars: The Rise of Skywalker,” Thomas Newman’s “1917,” Randy Newman’s “Marriage Story” and Alexandre Desplat’s “Little Women”), final choices could easily include streaming content which, while eligible, has rarely made the nominations list.
Terence Blanchard’s score for Netflix’s “Da 5 Bloods” is a strong candidate, as are recent Emmy winners like Labrinth’s “Euphoria,” Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross’ “Watchmen,” both on HBO, and Ludwig Göransson’s “The Mandalorian” on Disney Plus.
A bit harder to predict: the choices for compilation soundtrack, the category that includes song scores. High on the list is the album for Disney’s “Frozen 2,...

August has been Friends Month at Hulu, with the streaming service getting a big collection of movies and TV shows that are all about people who have friends or whatever, so it’s appropriate that September will be Family Month—a month dedicated to movies and TV shows about people who either have families or don’t have families because their parents were gunned down in an alley. In September, Hulu subscribers will be able to catch such family-centric content as The Addams Family, Addams Family Values, season 13 of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Batman, Batman Returns, Carrie, My Girl, Robocop, And You Thought Your Parents Were Weird, Silent Hill, Freaky Friday (1977), Freaky Friday (2003), and Lilo & Stitch—though that one’s technically about ‘ohana, which means family.
