- In the original 2014 Japanese version of Shimajiro and the Whale's Song, the original opening title is called Gekijouban Shimajirou no wao!: Shimajirou to kujira no uta and the opening title card shows Japanese symbols. Also, when the characters like Hermit Crab puppet talk about megaphones there are no live action multiple pictures in the original Japanese version and the end credit names are shown in Japanese symbols except for the composer Daudi Joseph.
- In the 2020 Indonesian dub to Shimajiro and the Whale's Song, the Indonesian title is now called Shimajiro dan Nyanyian Paus. Characters like Torippii the green Parrot is renamed to Flappie. Also the Lion Scientist character Gaogao-San is now renamed Dr. Roarson. There are now Indonesian subtitles. When the characters like Hermit Crab puppet talk about megaphones you can now see multiple pictures of kids in their homes playing with the megaphones. Like in the Japanese version, the credits are still shown in Japanese symbols with the exception of Daudi Joseph, but at the end of the Japanese credits is an extended list of Indonesian cast and crew members.
