There was talk that Brotherhood of the Wolf and Silent Hill director Christophe Gans’ new Silent Hill movie Return to Silent Hill, which is said to be “totally independent from the two previous movies,” would be having its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this month, but that’s not exactly what happened. What actually happened was that there was a private screening of the film for potential distributors. We don’t know how that went, but we are benefiting from the film’s search for distributors. The first image made its way online a couple weeks ago (that can be seen above), and now a teaser trailer has made its way online. You can check that out right here:

Brotherhood of the Wolf and Silent Hill director Christophe Gans’ new Silent Hill movie Return to Silent Hill, which is said to be “totally independent from the two previous movies,” is set to make its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival this month – and in anticipation of that premiere, Variety has gotten their hands on the first image from the movie, which features the iconic character Pyramid Head from the video game series! You can check it out at the bottom of this article.
Gans directed the 2006 version of Silent Hill from a screenplay he wrote with Roger Avary and Nicolas Boukhrief, and directed this new film from a screenplay he wrote with Sandra Vo-Anh and Will Schneider. Based on the video game Silent Hill 2, Return to Silent Hill follows James, a man broken after being separated from his one true love. When a mysterious letter calls him back...

Imagine what it was like in the 1990s -- and being constantly told and reminded that Tarantino was revolutionizing cinema.
Not only was Quentin Tarantino's indie project being worshiped by film critics in 1994, but it was also being staged as the antithesis to the year's other subversive comedy, Forrest Gump, starring Tom Hanks.
Forrest Gump represented traditional values and innocence. (Though screenwriter Eric Roth nor Winston Groom ever intended the character that way)
Pulp Fiction represented cynicism and brutality triumphing over good intentions. It was an Oscar race partly conceived by Miramax and Harvey Weinstein, who, believe it or not, used to be good at other things besides...well, you know.
It was impossible for Gen X not to embrace Pulp Fiction as their generation's movie and the one that most spoke to their maturing culture. Maybe amid the media storm, I was the only one who saw what was happening.

To say that few filmmakers love movies as much as Quentin Tarantino is a staggering understatement. Few people love movies as much as Quentin Tarantino, and the cinephile’s tastes continue to shape Hollywood. Today he turns 61, and so of course we had to share an updated list of Tarantino’s favorite movies that brings the total to 61.
The video store clerk-turned-director has spent decades dazzling interviewers and fans with his unparalleled knowledge of cinema history, with tastes that range from universally acclaimed classics to more obscure and even lowbrow fare. While his love of spaghetti Westerns and exploitation flicks has always been well-documented, Tarantino isn’t afraid to publicly embrace the modern or mainstream. He proudly championed “Top Gun: Maverick” in the summer of 2022, as did so many others. Not to mention, he’s a fan of rom-coms, particularly on long flights. (He once dubbed Kate Hudson “the queen...

The baddest one-chick hit-squad that ever hit town is brewin’ some hot coffee – or should we say Coffy? Quentin Tarantino has opened up a coffee shop next to his own Vista Theater called Pam’s Coffy, so named after both actress Pam Grier and her 1973 blaxploitation classic.
Now an official neighbor to the Vista Theater – which reopened last November thanks to Tarantino – Pam’s Coffy opened on February 14th while the iconic theater was in the middle of their Ib Tech Fest, honoring the process that is marked for having pristine colors that don’t fade. That night’s double feature was What’s Up, Doc? (1972) – which Tarantino has said will be part of the Cinema Speculation follow-up – and The War Between Men and Women (also 1972).
But enough about screenings most of us won’t be able to attend. Pam’s Coffy is an ode not just to its namesake star...

Anyone in the biz knows that the true representation of a movie critic has never been seen in mass media. Sitting in the dark before racing to make an embargo-break deadline, then kvetching online about weak third acts? Brad Pitt material, all of it.
Luckily, Quentin Tarantino’s next project may fix all that. Deadline reported that a deal is imminent for the director and star to reunite for Tarantino’s next and (allegedly) final picture, “The Movie Critic.” Pitt won Best Supporting Actor at the 2020 Oscars for his turn in Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood,” which also won Best Production Design for Barbara Ling and Nancy Haigh, plus eight other nominations, including Best Picture. The two also worked together on “Inglorious Basterds.”

Plot: Struggling to find his place at Oxford University, student Oliver Quick (Barry Keoghan) finds himself drawn into the world of the charming and aristocratic Felix Catton, who invites him to Saltburn, his eccentric family’s sprawling estate, for a summer never to be forgotten.

When "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" was released to theaters in 2019, it was promoted as "The 9th Film by Quentin Tarantino." Technically, this is true. Though "Kill Bill" was split into two volumes due to its 247-minute runtime, it is one complete story. Still, there is one intriguing what-if that could bump Tarantino up into 10 completed features -- one that presaged his pop-culture cuisinart sensibility while displaying, in the crudest of forms, his formal daring.
The film is called "My Best Friend's Birthday," and only 36 minutes remain of what was once a 70-minute shoestring-budget indie comedy that, had Tarantino had been able to splice his footage into a coherent story, might've been able to land a competition slot at the Sundance Film Festival. Because, despite its ultra lo-fi aesthetic, it's got a hyper-referential swagger that plays like Jean-Luc Godard on a cocaine binge.

Superbly watchable tale of corrupt cops is led by Washington’s swaggeringly malign detective, out to bully Ethan Hawke into wrongdoing
This LA crime thriller from 2001, written by David Ayer and directed by Antoine Fuqua and with cameos from Eva Mendes, Macy Gray, Snoop Dogg and Terry Crews, is as superbly watchable as ever; it is as instantly and horribly addictive as the Pcp that Denzel Washington’s imperiously corrupt cop makes his rookie underling Ethan Hawke smoke on the job as a grisly initiation ceremony. A true narcotics cop is a drug connoisseur, he tells him with a grin, all part of imposing your personality on the streets.
When I saw this on first release I think was wary of a certain self-consciousness in Washington’s Oscar-winning performance as an LAPD officer radioactive with his own psychopathic corruption and conceit. I also ungenerously found fault with a certain final coincidence.

Barbenheimer has swept not only the nation but the globe, with Barbie seeing green in its pink-filled world at a $337 million worldwide opening and its quasi-competitor Oppenheimer proving to be one of Christopher Nolan’s strongest debuts, with the movies collectively grossing over a half-billion dollars. And while the internet was abuzz with the striking differences between the films that happened to be out on the same weekend, two major names — Quentin Tarantino and Roger Avary — got in on the fun, planning their own Barbenheimer double feature. Hm, maybe Tarantino should have played Mr. Pink…
As confirmed by the Twitter account for Tarantino and Avary’s podcast, The Video Archives, the duo spent an afternoon catching the meme-worthy Barbenheimer double feature, hitting Christopher Nolan’s movie before wrapping up their day with some lighter fare courtesy of Greta Gerwig, helping Barbie have the best opening weekend for a female director ever.

No one is immune to the cultural craze that is “Barbenheimer” — including Quentin Tarantino.
Moviegoers across the globe assembled over the weekend to celebrate the debut of both Greta Gerwig’s pink and plastic-permeated “Barbie” and Christopher Nolan’s atomic history piece “Oppenheimer.” With both films opening on the same day, many ticket buyers picked up same-day viewings of the films — Tarantino among them.

Love him or hate him, what Quentin Tarantino has achieved over his more than 30 years of filmmaking is inarguably impressive. Not only is the “Reservoir Dogs” writer/director a renowned auteur — nominated three times for the Best Director Oscar with two Best Original Screenplay wins for “Pulp Fiction” and “Django Unchained” — Tarantino is also a well-versed film critic whose encyclopedic knowledge of other artists’ filmographies precedes him.
Living in Los Angeles, the “Pulp Fiction” director famously began his journey to cinematic rock star status as an employee at the Video Archives rental store in Manhattan Beach: since closed, rebuilt in Tarantino’s basement, and turned into a podcast he hosts with longtime friend and collaborator Roger Avary. It was in the bygone era of rewindable tapes that Tarantino cut his critical teeth: combing through the store’s collection, full of everything from black-and-white classics to straight-to-tv sci-fi specials.

Anyone hoping that Quentin Tarantino’s going to eventually make the long-rumoured Kill Bill Vol 3 shouldn’t get their hopes up. Tarantino has long said that he’s only planning on making ten films before retiring, and he’s already settled on The Movie Critic. “I don’t see that. My last film is about a film critic, a male critic. And he plays in the 70s,” he told DeMorgen, a Flemish newspaper (translated by Deadline).
Tarantino had occasionally teased the possibility of a third film over the years but never seemed entirely sold on the idea of it being his final film. While Uma Thurman’s daughter, Maya Hawke, has long been seen as the perfect casting to play The Bride’s daughter, B.B, and was even in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Tarantino is sticking to his self-imposed ten-movie limit.

Four years after world premiering Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood to Cannes Film Festival, Quentin Tarantino returned to the festival last month with the tease of a secret screening. Considering the recent “death” of Leonardo DiCaprio’s Rick Dalton––for which Tarantino delivered a two-part, two-hour-plus eulogy to the fictional character (more on that below)––rumors swirled it may be the discussed extended cut of his 2019 feature. However, it turned out to be the 1977 Paul Schrader-scripted gem Rolling Thunder, a film that Tarantino wrote about extensively in “Cinema Speculation” and which he aims to recreate in his own vision for his forthcoming final feature The Movie Critic.

The film world is still reeling from the recent loss of actor Rick Dalton, whose passing was first announced on May 19th, 2023 by The Video Archives Podcast's official Twitter account. Dalton, who passed away at his Honolulu, Hawaii home (shortly after celebrating his 90th birthday in April), is survived by his wife, one-time Italian starlet Francesca Cappucci.
The Video Archives Podcast, created and hosted by filmmakers Quentin Tarantino and Roger Avary, aired an episode on May 22nd that is apparently part one of a multi-episode run that revolves around the directors' memories of Dalton and his work.
While other friends and fans of the actor such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt have yet to make any official statements or remembrances, Tarantino has made sure that Dalton's name isn't fading into the ether like so many stars of yesteryear. Quentin Tarantino is expanding the Rick Dalton lore in the remembrance of the late (and invented) movie star.
The “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” auteur announced May 19 that Dalton, played by Leonardo DiCaprio in the 2019 film, died at the age of 90. Dalton’s 1969 exploits alongside stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) were captured in Tarantino’s “Hollywood,” during which Dalton saves Sharon Tate (Margot Robbie) from the Manson family would-be serial killers.
During Tarantino and “Pulp Fiction” co-screenwriter Roger Avary’s recent entry in the “Video Archives Podcast,” Tarantino remembered the late fictional action star.
“Dalton was beloved by fans of ‘Bounty Law,’ where he played bounty hunter Jake Cahill for five seasons and also for his iconic role as Eddie Karpinski, the flamethrower-wielding vigilante in ‘The Fireman,’ ‘The Fireman Part 2,’ and ‘The Fireman 3: CIA Crackdown,'” Tarantino said. “But he was so much more than that, with...

The tweet also offered additional information about the history of Dalton, stating that “Rick passed away peacefully in his home in Hawaii and is survived by his wife Francesca. Rip Rick Dalton 1933-2023.”

Let’s call this a fauxbituary. On Friday, The Video Archives Podcast – the show director Quentin Tarantino hosts with his longtime friend and “Pulp Fiction” co-writer and Oscar winner Roger Avary – announced that Rick Dalton, the “Bounty Law” star who helped thwart the attempted murder of actress Sharon Tate, had died at the age of 90.

Quentin Tarantino has apparently closed the book on Rick Dalton, the actor portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio in Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood.
Tarantino made the announcement via The Video Archives podcast, which he hosts with Pulp Fiction cowriter Roger Avary. A series of tweets announced the death, and indicated that Tuesday’s podcast will be “a memorial episode designed by Quentin that features some of Rick’s best roles.”
The Video Archives podcast is where Tarantino and Avary “revisit classic films on VHS and discover new favorites.” New episodes arrive every other Tuesday usually, but apparently the schedule has been speeded up to accommodate the breaking news.
Tarantino has previously mapped out Dalton’s life. In 2021, he told podcaster Jeff Goldsmith that he had a biography set.
“I wrote The Films of Rick Dalton book,” he said. “It’s written as if Rick is real. You know, they have...

Rick Dalton, the protagonist of Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 film “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood” played by Leonardo DiCaprio, has died at 90.
Or, uh, that was the news from Tarantino’s podcast “The Video Archives” as announced on Friday.
Dalton, fictionally best known as the star of the TV show “Bounty Law” and “The Fireman” trilogy, is survived by his (fictional) wife Francesca, according to the podcast. Dalton was the lead role in Tarantino’s revisionist history Hollywood melodrama, which put the past-his-prime actor and his loyal stuntman (played by Brad Pitt in an Oscar-winning performance) in the heart of key events in the late 1960s.
Namely — spoiler warning for a 3-year-old movie — the finale offered up a skewed variation on the infamous Charles Manson murders, in which his brainwashed foot soldiers came to Rick’s door and met their gruesome ends, with Sharon Tate and her compatriots partying next...

After the success of Reservoir Dogs, Quentin Tarantino had his choice of pretty much any project he wanted…and he almost blew it by remaking a cheapo Roger Corman movie for Showtime.
Speaking on his Video Archives podcast, which he co-hosts with Roger Avary, Tarantino said he was approached by Showtime to take part in Rebel Highway, a 10-part tribute to B movies from the Aip catalog, all with a budget just over $1 million. “They wanted me to do one. Now, the thing is, every single person who did one–nobody did a remake, they just took the punchy title and then kind of did their own thing. I really liked Rock All Night…and so I would have done this remake.” For those unfamiliar with Rock All Night, it’s about two killers who take over a teen hangout spot and take them hostage.

Writer/director Don Coscarelli kicked off a mind-bending horror franchise with his low budget 1979 classic Phantasm, following that up with Phantasm II in 1988 and Phantasm III: Lord of the Dead in 1994. One Phantasm phan who thought they knew where the franchise should go next was Roger Avary – and soon after sharing an Academy Award win with Quentin Tarantino for co-writing the stories that made up Pulp Fiction, Avary started crafting a Phantasm sequel script he called Phantasm 1999. Coscarelli was impressed with what Avary had come up with, and set out to bring Phantasm 1999 to the screen… but it never happened. Nods to the ideas in that script made it into Phantasm: Oblivion and Phantasm: Ravager, but the budget required for Phantasm 1999 (which was also called Phantasm 2013 A.D. and Phantasm’s End as time went on) could never be secured. So find out about the Phantasm movie that never was...

Who doesn't love a good Viking movie? Nearly a full millennium after the Vikings' heyday, stories of the Scandinavian seafarers and warriors who rampaged their way through Europe and around the world in the 8th through 11th centuries still fascinate us — enough to inspire an entire subgenre of historical fiction that spans various media. Film in particular has returned to the Viking world repeatedly since the silent era, with productions that hail from Iceland, America, Norway, Britain, Denmark, and more.
A quick scan of the most notorious Viking-themed films reveals that these movies have never been just one thing; it's a milieu that lends itself to comedy, romance, horror, superhero-style action, and, of course, the gruesome war sagas it's most commonly associated with. Here, then, are 14 essential Viking movies that should cover a wide range of cinematic tastes and proclivities, while still satisfying anyone who's just looking for a grand,...

Bret Easton Ellis’ latest novel “The Shards” goes where only Bret Easton Ellis could possibly go: back to 1981 Los Angeles with a 600-page book, largely unedited, that’s mostly about himself.
That’s partly because the main character is named Bret, a nihilistic, 17-year-old, bisexual San Fernando Valley trust-fund prep-school brat who’s writing a book called “Less Than Zero.” Yes, this is literary-horror autofiction from the author of that aforementioned 1985 debut and shocking postmodern novels like “American Psycho.”
“The Shards” is also a more-or-less direct transcript of the Patreon serial Ellis launched in late 2020, and its unwieldiness means it’s well-matched for a long-form, flashy series adaptation at HBO. As IndieWire has confirmed, “The Shards” is now being set up at the premium cabler with Ellis as the sole writer while executive producing with Nick Hall (Emmy-winning executive producer on “The White Lotus”) and Brian Young (an executive producer...

“Sex is not part of my vision of cinema,” Oscar-winning writer-director Quentin Tarantino said in an interview with a Spanish news outlet (as per EW). And now that we think about it, no, there aren’t too many scenes of lovemaking in the auteur’s oeuvre.
There is no shortage of buff dudes (Brad Pitt removing his shirt in “Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood” received a round of applause at its New York press premiere) and fetching young women (have you seen “Death Proof”?) but, yeah, not really any “sex scenes” per se.
“It’s a pain to shoot sex scenes, everyone is very tense,” he said, adding, “If it was already a bit problematic to do it before, now it is even more so. If there had ever been a sex scene that was essential to the story,...

The enduring “Rocky” fandom sure packs an expensive punch.
The rise of VHS auctions has included a whopping sale of $53,750 for the “Rocky” trilogy starring Sylvester Stallone. A February sale from Heritage Auctions in Dallas, Texas marked a return for videotapes. As Quentin Tarantino and Roger Avary relive their video-store days with a VHS-centric podcast, and video production company and YouTube channel Red Letter Media raised over $80,000 for charity by selling a sealed “Nukie” tape, consumers are flocking to collectibles. And especially as content keeps getting yanked off streaming services.
“A man told us he found a sealed first release of ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ at Goodwill,” Heritage specialist Jay Carlson, a collector who uses an Instagram account titled Rare and Sealed, told The New York Times. “He paid a quarter. That will probably go for $20,000.”
Carlson’s first auction in June 2022 profited more than half a million dollars.

Last month, Rocky Morton and Annabel Jankel went to the theater to see “Super Mario Bros.,” a movie they directed 30 years ago — and haven’t watched since.
The live-action 1993 film, starring Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo as Mario and Luigi, bombed at the box office and landed on various “Worst Movies of All Time” lists, later developing a passionate cult following. In the directors’ own words, “Super Mario Bros.” was so “reviled” that it left a “black mark” on the married couple’s careers.
That is, until a midnight screening held at Quentin Tarantino’s New Beverly Cinema on March 11 “washed away the stain.”
“My thought was that there would be 10 or 20 people there,” Morton tells Variety. “But it was jam-packed. There were people queueing up around the block for extra tickets.” During the film, Morton says the audience was “laughing and clapping at all the right places. They weren...

It's about time for "Silent Hill" to make a comeback. The popular horror video game franchise is not only getting several new entries but also another film adaptation. "Return to Silent Hill" will become the third movie in the series, though it sounds as if director Christopher Gans is making more of a reboot than a proper sequel. The film will serve to accompany the upcoming video game titles in a massive wave of "Silent Hill" projects that publisher Konami announced last October.
The series revolves around the titular town of Silent Hill (located in Maine in the games and West Virginia in the movies), a place imbued with an ancient and terrible power that manifests its visitors' inner fears, traumas, and guilt in the form of misshapen creatures. Each entry follows a different character and their hellish adventures into Silent Hill, where they have to contend with the Order,...

It's official — the prolific auteur and cinema-obsessed filmmaker, Quentin Tarantino, has set what he claims will be his final feature film. According to sources at The Hollywood Reporter, Qt's 10th feature will be entitled "The Movie Critic." The mag expects that the filmmaker's new script could be sent out to studios and other potential backers as soon as this week, and filming will likely begin this year.
Details are still as sketchy as Stuntman Mike but allegedly, the film will be set in late '70s Los Angeles and revolve around a female protagonist. What /Film does know is that late last year, Tarantino revealed to critic Elvis Mitchell that the film will be an entirely new and original story.

Quentin Tarantino is a loquacious man. Since he hit the big time with "Pulp Fiction" in 1994, he has been a regular and willing presence on talk shows, even when he doesn't have anything new to promote. He drops by many of the most popular podcasts, and, unsurprisingly, launched one of his own, The Video Archives Podcast, where he gabs at length with his director buddy and former video store co-worker Roger Avary. He just doesn't seem to have an "off" switch, which makes it very difficult to believe he's going to stick to his word and retire from filmmaking after completing his next, as-yet-unannounced movie.
Evidently, Tarantino writes like he talks: fast and spontaneously. He generated so much material for "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" that he novelized his own screenplay so he could include the excised details. This has always been his way, and it sounds both exhausting and fascinating,...

Quentin Tarantino always wants the right person for the role, no matter the cost or, in the case of Austin Butler, the time. Before Butler was hired to play Manson Family member Tex Watson in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, he had to prove he was as real as a donut, being teased with fake scripts and going through an exhausting 12-hour audition.
“Quentin came in and most auditions last 10 minutes if you’re lucky. I was there from like nine in the morning to 9 p.m.,” said Butler. “He doesn’t record auditions, he really works with you and looks at you. It’s the same way on set, he doesn’t look through a monitor. As we now know, Quentin Tarantino's movies are all set in the same fantastical cinematic universe, offering a glimpse inside the director's head. Like in the real world, anybody can die at any time in various nasty ways, but at least in the Tarantino-verse your killer will probably be jiving to some obscure '70s pop tune or engaging you in a little banter about hamburgers before pulling the trigger. It's a rich, colorful, dangerous place, laden with pop culture references, and also has a second universe within a universe. As Tarantino explained (via Esquire):
"There's the realer than real universe, alright, and all the characters inhabit that one. But then there's this movie universe. And so 'From Dusk Till Dawn,' 'Kill Bill,' they all take place in this special movie universe. So basically when the characters of 'Reservoir Dogs' or 'Pulp Fiction,'...

The screenplay for "True Romance" might be Quentin Tarantino's greatest masterpiece, and it's also one of the only films he wrote that he did not direct himself. That said, director Tony Scott made quite a few changes to Tarantino's original work, transforming an experimental story into a much more traditional narrative. In fact, the first rendition of the script was totally non-linear. Did these changes work for the better, or were we robbed of ground-breaking cinema?
Tarantino famously subverts a linear three-act structure in his films. "Pulp Fiction," for example, tells several interweaving narratives out of order. His directorial debut "Reservoir Dogs" also tells its story out of linear sequence. In both of these films, the audience doesn't truly understand the stakes of the first scene until the second or third act. Following the trend, "True Romance" was initially written with this same unconventional structure in mind,

Like many people passionate about movies, particularly those who grew up in the golden age of trash-talking critics like Pauline Kael, Judith Crist, Rex Reed, Gene Siskel, and Roger Ebert, Quentin Tarantino isn't shy about throwing an elbow or twelve when discussing cinema. He doesn't vacillate, nor does he spend much time discussing films that elicit a ho-hum response. You could say he likes to play contrarian, but that would suggest he's basically the Skip Bayless of film discourse. While you may vehemently disagree with Tarantino from time to time, he is anything but a full-of-it blowhard who spouts off inflammatory opinions to get a rise out of low-information fanatics. Tarantino knows his subject inside and out. If you want to enter his arena, you better come armed with ardor and a lifetime's worth of film knowledge.
This doesn't mean Tarantino can't be infuriating on occasion. This is, after all,...

Writer and director Quentin Tarantino is an avid film fan who famously pays homage to his favorite genre films in his own work, but for "Inglourious Basterds," he drew from his own filmography as well.
While "Basterds" is clearly inspired by numerous war films and Nazi exploitation movies like "Ilsa: She Wolf of the SS," Tarantino also loosely pulled from several of his previous films. In an interview with Rotten Tomatoes, Tarantino shared that he felt like "Inglourious Basterds" shared traits with his earlier films "True Romance," "Reservoir Dogs," and "Pulp Fiction." (Tarantino wrote the screenplay for "True Romance," which was directed by Tony Scott.) It's not surprising or unusual for a creative to draw from their earlier work, and Tarantino took some of the lessons learned from his past to make "Inglourious Basterds" the best it could be.

A 4K Steelbook! Haven’t seen this show lately, and discovered that it holds up remarkably well. Mr. Qt’s sophomore outing made an indelible mark on American movies — the darling of hipster crime filmmaking dazzled viewers with showcase set-piece scenes, entertainingly profane dialogue and ultra-hip inside-out time-shuffling narrative tricks. Add to that genuine star turns, especially Uma Thurman and John Travolta’s iconic dance scene. It’s old-fashioned movie-going in an avant-garde pattern, with raw violence and even rougher language. The stars include Samuel L. Jackson, Harvy Keitel, Ving Rhames, Tim Roth, Amanda Plummer and Bruce Willis.

Quentin Tarantino isn't just one of our greatest living filmmakers, he's also one of the world's preeminent cinephiles. Whereas many directors try to keep their opinions to themselves, especially regarding recently released movies, Tarantino loves to sound off. He publicly shares his yearly top 10 lists, and uses every interview as an opportunity to talk about whatever movies happen to be on his mind at that particular moment. He also recently launched a podcast with his longtime buddy (and one-time Video Archives co-worker) Roger Avary, and published a book in which he holds forth on significant movies and directors.
Ever since Tarantino became a brand unto himself (around the time Miramax gave him a boutique distribution arm called Rolling Thunder Pictures), we quickly realized that his taste in movies is all over the place. He could champion an arthouse triumph like Wong Kar-wai's "Chungking Express," then turn around and re-release...
