Very creepy
The real reason this isn't 8/10 or above is because the original source material is not well represented. I totally respect that accurate opinion, however if you take this work as a completely separate effort it is thoroughly enjoyable. As others noted, if you want something that is unique and very creepy, this won't disappoint you. The art style is still very enjoyable, melancholic, and captivating. We all get a little carried away with negative reviews I think, I would be frustrated too if I was aware of the manga and had those expectations. To the original fans I get your point, but to the new fans like me it is quite impressive and a fun ride.
