Supernatural (2005–2020)

Lots of fun

Honestly it's worth watching just for Jensen Ackles...sigh... but the show is great. I watched it after seeing 'The Boys' as this is by the same creators and there are similarities with some of the humour. Some episodes are ok and some are fabulous but it is a compulsive, entertaining show that has horror, comedy, thrills and heartaches. It's written well with surprises around the corner and you do feel for the characters. One of my favourites is the high school musical episode. Now, high school musical is NOT my cup of tea at all and I almost skipped this one but so glad I didn't. Lots of fun, really enjoyed it.

Stranger Things (2016–2025)

My nerves are shot

Never fancied this, not at all. But oh my god how good is this show?! It's tense, exciting but also has some really lovely and tender moments. By god though my nerves are totally shot at with the suspense. Excellent story that just keeps giving. Every season gets better and better. Great acting, great story. It's got cheeky kids, scary bits, monsters, 80s music and the supernatural- what more can you ask for.

The devil has risen

Brilliant! At times I thought I was watching a version of The Omen as Frank Underwood can only be described as the devil incarnate. Great acting and compelling storylines. One of the best shows I've seen in ages.

Did I watch the same movie as everyone else? I kept holding on for the moment it would improve due to its high rating but nay, it wasn't to be. I'm stunned into silence while I contemplate how I'll ever get this time back.

I'm pretty late to this and my god my nerves are shot at. Series 3 episode 10 is the most awful, tense filled thing I've seen in ages. Don't want to give it away but jeez you want to scream at the prison officers! I wanted to cry.

Excellent show, can't believe I've left it so long to watch.

Heartbreaking and compelling, animal lovers like me will find this difficult. The show was stretched out a little but it's still very interesting. Really hard to watch in places however I carried on as I just couldn't believe how those remarkable people carried on looking for him for so long, they belong in the FBI.

Boring, at times really ridiculous which at least made us laugh and it's so long. I haven't included actual spoilers but here's a spoiler alert - the plot just repeats itself movie after movie. Star Wars is well past it's sell by date. My advice if you have to go is take a blanket and pillow.

No Escape (I) (2015)

I almost chewed my fingernails off with the tension in this movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it, I thought it had a good cast and it moved at a great pace. A good watch.

The Irishman (2019)

Great effects on the amazing cast but for me this was too long and it's just another gangster film. It was no different to any of the other movies or tv shows about the mafia and it was quite boring. Nothing special and it's really disappointing.

Amazing! Amazing! Brilliant acting, fantastic scrip and this will keep you captivated throughout. The best film I've seen in years. Thought provoking too about mental health which is a good thing but if you don't look beyond the film itself for any reasoning behind his downfall it's just a fantastic piece of work.

A real head scratcher

I love the actors in this movie and it started so well, but two thirds in it loses its way quickly and I just don't get it. It's not the fault of the actors, it's the story which is crazy. The end is weird, it makes no sense at all. It's a shame as it could have been brilliant, a real head scratcher this one.

Eli (I) (2019)

After a mixed bag of reviews I gave this a watch and I thought it was great, excellent Halloween movie. A really good horror/thriller with an ending I didn't see coming. I could see how it tied in with the story and even though I know the ending I'll watch it again. Good acting, good pace and I would defo recommend for traditional horror fans.

A Dark Place (2018)

After a slow start I was really surprised how much I enjoyed this movie. Very touching at times and shocking at others with an OMG ending. Keep with it, it's a really good story with great acting. I would absolutely recommend it.

Hotel Mumbai (2018)

Bad Times at the El Royale (2018)

An unexpected little gem. It has a Tarantino feel to it and someone said in their review think hateful eight in the 60s which isn't far off. Great stories, great acting particularly Chris Hemsworth's little dance (oh yeah ladies!) and it all comes together very well. I really enjoyed every minute of this film and would highly recommend.

Too much CGI, boring, just awful really with a poor story. Make sure you've had a lot of alcohol before watching to ensure this mediocre monstrosity.

The Boys (2019– )

Good fun

Really interesting and fun show, I wasn't sure at first but stick with it, it gets so much better. And the fact that Karl Urban looks mighty fine certainly helps...but seriously it's sweet at times, exciting at others but overall a really good and as I said a fun show.

Mindhunter (2017–2019)

Compelling and intriguing, you just have to block watch the whole series. There are not enough episodes and I can't wait for more. I love the way the characters work with each other and it's all done in such a clever way. One to watch for sure.

I really enjoyed it. I thought the stories were great, it was as at times a touch slow but overall I thought it was original and certainly worth a watch. A bit of car racing mixed with zombies, what's not to enjoy?

I watched this on my teenage son's recommendation so I wasn't expecting too much, but it was really funny from start to finish. A great story which is touching in parts. You end up loving all the characters especially Stu. I highly recommend.

I thought deep space nine was bad but this has left me losing the will to live. Terrible. Poor stories, poor casting. Just awful. So sad to see this drivel being churned out. It's tediuous, trying to be up to date and modern which hasn't worked.
