Yellowstone (2018)
If a single character could ruin a show. Beth would do it
Just when I thought the show could begin to resemble something decent , season 4 comes along and just proves my point. The show was always campy and I never understood the hype. I hung in because my wife liked it.
Basically in a nutshell. Beth is the most insufferable female character ever written and continues to be. She encapsulates the most vile parts of a human. Jamie is a coward and never grows a spine. Neither does his brother Kaycee . Not sure why Jimmy gets so much air time as a side character. John is burnt out in S4 and it shows. So we're just supposed to believe that Jamie's biological dad plotted the assassinations of the most powerful family in Montana ? When it was obvious it should have been market equities. They were the villain the fans deserved for S4, not this .
Overall , season 4 was a dud compared to the other seasons and leaves you not very excited or excited for the finale. Perhaps they can find their footing again.
Hereditary (2018)
Absolutely Terrible , I believe the director owes me money for my wasted time.
This film from start to finish was horrendous. The plot is subpar and hides behind the mask of "its metaphorical and philosophical " . It tries to hard to be artsy. What makes the film difficult is the fact is has no backstory. In order for the viewer to understand the fear, there has to be a reason to it. The film attempts to be mysterious but comes off more like heroin junkies bad nightmare. You end up leaving the film just saying "WTF"
The Spy (2019)
Fantastic and captivating
Very good story and the acting is phenomenal. The cinematography was very unique and gave the series an iconic look.
Ancient Aliens (2009)
Ancient History is an open debatable story
There are no dumb questions when it comes to ancient history. Mainstream historiansike to claim their theories as fact but the fact is that most historians have very little knowledge of how any of ancient civilizations came to be. This documentary, while comes off quite crazy at times and sometimes contradicts itself is still very entertaining and does made you think from time to time. Megolithic structures have always proven to be a brain buster when its come to how they to be. Even today, experiments have been done and have proven that some of these stones could not have been moved by neolithic means so it makes you think. You dont have to believe but don't let the sheep with the bad comments keep you from this entertaining show.
The Grey (2011)
A movie about life, death, and reality of the Universe
"Once more into the Fray, into the last good fight I'll ever know, live and die on this day live and die on this day"..
The Grey is a hauntingly epic drama that uses the elements of man vs. Nature to tell a dramatic story of a man coming to terms with man's ultimate nemesis; Death. A group of Alaskan oilmen crash land in the arctic wilderness and are hunted down one by one by a pack of wolves. The wolf pack is symbolic as real wolves generally are not that hyperbolic in agression, but what they symbolize is the reality of life, death, and the unstopping power of nature vs. Man. If you go into this movie thinking it's a run of the mill action flick you will be sorely disappointed. This film hits a much deeper level of cinematic symbolism and messaging. It's dark and beautiful as the main character comes to term with death and the fragility of life. A true underrated cinematic masterpiece.
