Toy Story 4 (2019)

Necessary epilogue to a great franchise

Yes, Toy Story 4 is the 4th best movie in the franchise but it's still a necessary epilogue to a great franchise.

I was born in the mid 90's and grew up on Toy Story 1 & 2. I thought Toy Story 3 was the perfect ending to the trilogy that dealt with themes of growing up and moving on in life. This really hit home when it came out in theaters since I was a high school student preparing to move on from my hometown friends and family and go off to college.

I believe 3 is still the best film but it does not address how there is more than one path to life. 4 shows that there's more to being a toy than being loved by a kid and that it's never too late to change course in life whether it's a career change or moving to another city. There are many different paths in life and not everyone is going to take the same one. Not every toy needs to be a child's play-thing just how not every person needs to have a wife and kids with a white picket fence. And while loyalty is important, it is sometimes necessary to put yourself first for the benefit of your own happiness.

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (2018)

The film was a bit disappointing. I think they could've tied the stories together to make the movie more cohesive.

I actually like Vince Vaughn a lot (Swingers, Old School, Wedding Crashers), but he's just too annoying in this movie. His boisterous character takes away from a unique plot.

Shrek the Third (2007)

It's not ogre yet

I waited 1,094 days after the release of Shrek 2 to witness Shrek become a daddy. It warmed my heart and inspired me. Very good film.

My favorite part was when Kevin didn't know where the lobby was at the Plaza. Thank God there was a great leader there to point him in the right direction.

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)

Omit the Naboo dialogue with Anakin and Padme and you actually have a decent film.

The battle on Geonosis was awesome and Count Dooku was a really cool villain. Anakin kicking the crap out of the Sand People was also satisfying and an important turning point in his (mostly poor) character development.

The movie definitely has its faults but shouldn't be grouped with any of the terrible sequel films in terms of merit.

Drake & Josh (2004–2007)

Kids and Adults can laugh together

This show continues withstand time with lovable characters and relatable family feuds. It never takes itself too seriously but has some very heartwarming moments throughout the show. All ages can enjoy watching together. One of the best sitcoms of the 00's.

Kinda boring and predictable actually. It's definitely watchable but it never really captivated me like Hill House did. The acting was good but the characters were long winded and melodramatic at times. Overall it was less memorable of a series than the first. It also wasn't scary which may be a problem if you're a viewer looking for a good scare.

Great way to introduce to a new generation

I loved this movie when I was a kid and just rewatched it on Netflix as an adult and still found it entertaining. There was a good balance between paying homages to the original show and adding exciting and new twists for a different generation of kids. I didn't have a problem with the voice cast like some people on here. It's unrealistic to think that the whole OG cast will reprise their roles. True fans of Scooby-Doo will appreciate this movie

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008)

The Good: the South American setting, the 1950's references (Red Scare, Mutt's greaser persona), pays homages to original film (Marion, the natives scene, Marcus Brody statue, snakes, The Ark), John Hurt's character was a nice addition, the ants scene was great

The Bad: Mack's character was poorly written, CGI groundhogs, mediocre villain, unnecessary wedding at the end

The Ugly: the refrigerator, the vines scene, the flying saucer

Overall I think it's still worth watching and way better than any of the Star Wars sequels. Hopefully they'll learn from some of their mistakes for when they finally make Indy 5.

Outer Banks (2020– )

It knows what it is

It's kinda like The Goonies...but edgier and with a less-likable cast.

It's not trying to be anything that it's not and it's not trying to break any barriers or revolutionize television. Overall it was an entertaining and fun watch.

Shrek (2001)

Best Movie of All-time

The Holy Grail of cinema. Shrek teaches everyone that ogres are like onions-not because they smell-but because they've got layers. Never judge a person for what's on the outside. The only plot-hole I can't get to the bottom of is: why didn't Shrek ask Donkey what his name was when they meet for the first time? Did it happen off-screen? Or did they meet in a prequel? Regardless, this is still the best movie ever created.

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (2019)

Nice epilogue

Part of the beauty to the end of the show was the mystery in regards to the fate of Jesse Pinkman, but I thought that they made a satisfying epilogue that made a nice addition to the show. There was a nice balance of story and cameos. Jesse Plemons stole the show in some of the flashback scenes reprising his role of Todd.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019)

Disappointing

The one thing I think all the X-Men movies got wrong was their depiction of Scott Summers. In the comics he was the fearless leader of the X-Men whereas the Marsden/Sheridan portrayals of him make him look like a wuss.

In the comics, The Dark Phoenix saga is largely centered around the relationship between Jean and Scott and the movie totally put their relationship on the back burner.

There was no emotional/character development and I personally didn't like the direction they took some of the characters. It felt kinda like reading a Wikipedia article about the Dark Phoenix saga rather than watching a movie about it.

Troll 2 (1990)

Cinematic masterpiece

I don't understand why people hate on this movie so much. There is a lot of young talent. I even thought George Hardy's breakthrough performance jump started his career. It's visually stunning and the story is very unique. The twist ending kind of reminded me on a M. Night Shyamalon movie. 10/10 would totally recommend.
