My Wicked, Wicked Ways: The Legend of Errol Flynn (1985)
This Man Needs A Better Biopic
If you are an Errol Flynn fan you'll see what's missing in this and all the other films that pigeon hole him. I doubt one could be made that would capture his true essence. The guy was wonderful. Full of life. Unusual. Unique individualist. Acting was just another adventure for him. Seems like he did each part using what was within himself to make each character dynamic. Not some static pre-thought out intellectual playing of a part. He was full of life and took it wherever it lead. Most of all, he was not a phoney. This is why he is so hard to capture in a biopic. I'll watch it anyway!
Trauma (2018)
Wicked bad. Nonsense.
The Father was the biggest liar of all! And he was harassing the doctor in order to get HIM to tell the truth? Good grief! It seemed like by the end we would find out what mental illness the father had. But, no! His sick behavior is rewarded with his family all happy and smiles again. Sick.
It wasn't about class- it was about which one was crazy! The father!
Switchback (1997)
Implausible, but highly watchable
A guys' action movie with some great lines about doing the right thing. Integrity. Rather refreshing. Aside from that, did the Jared Leto character live or died at the end?
Secret Lives: Errol Flynn (1996)
A rehashed one dimensional quasi-bio
All written or biographied about Errol is simple, uninteresting, rehashed headlines and generalizations. You can't boil people down like this without doing them a great disservice. None of this stuff shows his true self. Just his exploits. He was much more than that. A colorful character who enjoyed life and didn't follow provincial attitudes, so what. BTW Beverly was his companion at the end, not just someone he "molested."
