Queen Cleopatra (2023)
So bad... so so so soooo bad. I cannot believe this was even made.
First, this should not be in any documentary category. If there was a "Completely utterly fake account of History" category then this would belong in that one. I don't even know what to say other then I think the creators might be on something.
Costumes: Inaccurate
Timeline: Inaccurate
Civics of the time: Inaccurate
Dialogue: Childish
Portrayal of Cleopatra: Inaccurate
Battles: Laughable
Casting: Laughable
Acting: Horrible
All this just makes it impossible to watch. Everyone involved in this project should be ashamed. If they wanted to do it this way they should have just made an action movie like they did with Alexander. That was horrible as well, but Queen Cleopatra has managed to make a statement of "Hold my beer" and literally make one of the worst documentaries/movies ever.
Shotgun Wedding (2022)
I want my 2 hours back.
This was just awful. In terms of an action packed romantic comedy. The action was so contrived that you pretty much knew how everything was going to play out. In terms of comedy, there was none. This was not edgy nor was it even funny in regards to family comedy. It was just purely stupid antics and boring. The acting aside from Jennifer Coolidge was atrocious. The romance was not there either. There is no chemistry between Lopez and the male lead. I am giving it 2 stars simply because once I figured out how awful this movie was I just had to sit back and laugh at it purely based on "I cannot believe this even got made." I literally think this was probably written in an evening.
The 1619 Project (2023)
A lot of Truths and a lot of misrepresentation.
Not sure why people are stating this is historically inaccurate. It's very accurate. It is what it is people. We have a shameful past. If you want to disagree with some of the causation that is one thing, but we cannot disagree with historical fact on how this nation was founded. Obviously this is going to point out things that our nation is and should be shameful for. This does not mean we are our ancestors, but we do need to reconcile our history and how this nation was built on the back of slavery and how our laws were impacted by it. I encourage everyone to embrace this for what it is. It's not an admission of guilt personally, it's an admission of our countries history.
The Many Saints of Newark (2021)
Loved the Series, this has zero resemblance to it.
I actually didn't know what to expect, but I certainly didn't expect this discombobulated compilation of wokeness. Ray Liotta's scenes were great and Juniors Varsity Comment was a winner. The rest was just... well... not good. Cannot believe this is what they came up with. So many Soprano fans out there that this wil make bank. Does not mean it is deserving of it.
Letterkenny (2016)
There are 5000 people in littlekenny and these are their problems.
Cannot stop laughing. It's probably not everyones humor, but if you enjoy Its always sunny, shameless, seinfeld, southpark, and other senseless humor this will be an indulgence. Fast and witty. Pitter Patter, get after it. You will figureitout and give it a hard yes.
Joker (2019)
An oscar worthy masterpeice.
Went and saw "Joker" today. Joaquin should get an award for that performance. I can see why people are walking out. It's an extremely poignant reminder of what is wrong with society today and how we treat one another matters. I personally think the movie should win lots of awards, not bans.
I went to it thinking it was going to be a lot of gratuitous violence. What I saw was someone who becomes a product of their environment. The tough part to watch is the journey that culminates with him becoming that product. I think a lot of people can relate, we all have those times where you feel constantly piled on. Couple that with mental illness and it's really sad movie. Very dark.. and i wouldnt even consider it an action movie and has a lot less violence than most horror flicks.
