Destroyer (2018)
Two hours of my life destroyed
Great performance from Nicole Kidman but sadly yet another of her movies falls by the wayside. This is so tedious, what little plot it had could have been over and done with in 30 minutes. Dreadful movie
Zero Dark Thirty (2012)
Hmmmm
I guess it must be very difficult to pen a movie based on questionable foundations, the events of 9/11 are not quite what they were advertised as 18 years ago and from then it's been lies and deception all the way.
Apostle (2018)
A cult classic?
A great movie, some pretty gruesome scenes and a great storyline...what's not to like?
England Is Mine (2017)
A biased review from a Mancunian
It's a great movie and to think The Smiths may never have happened but I'm glad they did. The area was rich in young musical talent back then and this is the story of just one man's personal battle in finding himself a particular place in a world that offered seemingly little. A fine soundtrack with a bit of Magazine thrown in for good measure. Fond memories of Manchester as I remember it.
Us and Them (2017)
Food for thought
An extra point earnt for two tracks by The Damned in the soundtrack. One or two low reviews by others almost stopped me watching this movie but as I'm a curious soul it spurned me on to watch it and find out myself and I'm glad I did. Sure the movie could have been better, twice as long but it didn't have to be, the point had already been made. The obscene, grotesque wealth gap of the social divide has been widening for many decades to the point where food banks are a lifestyle for those who have nothing, It's depressing stuff but it's real life for many and the injustice of it all is sickening. Is the movie believable, could it really happen?.., perhaps but hopefully not, it does however serve as a reminder that there's a limit a person can take when they feel they have nothing left to live for. It's a shame someone reviewed this movie as only being suitable for the white van man. I think it's a movie that tests a person's perception of reality and ignorance
Dead in a Week (Or Your Money Back) (2018)
Classic British Comedy
I don't look for comedies, thrillers, dramas.....I just look for British films and I'm rarely disappointed. This is typically British, a fine dark comedy
Mercy (2016)
Utter rubbish
Forget it, save 1.5hrs of your life. Now it says my review is too short, so I say again....forget it, save 1.5hrs of your life

Piercing (2018)
Sick
10 minutes into the movie and I was going to give it a miss but I continued, reluctantly. I just found the movie rather sickening, kind of sums up the way this sick world is going.
Blood Father (2016)
A good movie, typical Mel and great to see
So nice to see Mel on the screen, it's a good Mel movie what more can I say
Astral (2018)
A great concept but needs a high budget to make it work
I can't give this much more than a 4 rating. It's concept would make a great movie but it needs far more funding and doesn't pull off well within the realms of a low budget. The acting is not worthy of an Oscar but it's not too bad, if the idea is worked on and with a decent budget, better special effects and a better storyline I think it'd be a box office hit.
Disaster Movie (2008)
Walked out of the cinema
This is the only movie where I actually walked out of the cinema and asked for a refund, and guess what even the cinema took pity and gave me my money back. What was I thinking to even put myself in there I still don't know.
Stratton (2017)
Oh dear, oh dear
There have been very few movies that I've resorted to using the "stop now" button but this sadly is one of them. The acting is just dreadful, so much so that it's total unbelievable and unwatchable.
About Time (2013)
You can't beat a bit of Brit
A cracker of a movie, a movie to make you think about your own life, about your own choices. Superb acting and great characters. Another fine example of the strength of the British film industry.
Split (2016)
Captivating stuff, well worth a watch
For once the general consensus is that this is a good movie and it is, but of course some armchair detectives won't like it and that's fine. However, if you just want to kick your shoes off and be psychologically rattled for a couple of hours then enjoy the ride. It's just a movie, now pass the popcorn.
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011)
Dreadful, painful, tedious, confusing
One of the few movies I've seen all the way through leaving me at the end thinking what the hell did I just watch. I've walked out of cinemas once or twice before now when I see a dire production but I saw this on DVD, I love a good twisty, turny plot but I just couldn't get a handle on this movie.
Polar (2019)
Utter rubbish
50 minutes into the movie and I had to end it, utter rubbish. I'm up for a kiss ass movie but this is dire, don't bother...instead watch BadcDay For The Cut or Bait
Close (2019)
Not bad at all, certainly worth watching
Ignore the mysoginistic put downs of a female action hero, it was a good movie and makes a change from seeing familiar faces in action rolls. The acting was fine and it's a movie to be proud of, enjoy
Dumplin' (2018)
Oh wow, what a gem of a movie
This is one of the best movies I've seen in a while, grab a tissue or two, sit back and enjoy.
Burn Burn Burn (2015)
One of the best movies I've seen in a fair while
Without being biased what with me being British, this movie is a very moving, funny in parts, emotional journey that will even make you reassess yourself along the way. Fabulous acting with one or two familiar faces, this is a gem of a movie.
War on Everyone (2016)
Utter rubbish
British movies are often pretty good quality, movies such as Bait, Calibre etc but this movie sadly wasn't British, British funded I hear although I've no idea why. It's a dreadful movie, I got 2/3 of the way through and simply switched off it was that bad. I cannot say anymore
