Devastated...
17 March 2024
If I could write a review where I hated this series, where I was so disappointed and that I despised the main character I would. I hated the fact that I thought this series was so touching. That I was so disappointed that it ended when there were so many storylines that could have worked and that I despised the fact that I fell madly in love with the main character.

I say it was touching but don't get me wrong it was riveting too. Fantastic acting and all the characters were absolutely flawless. This is one where you can't wait for the next episode.

Watch this...I promise you won't be disappointed.

Wow! VERY impressed.

I'm thrilled that I came across this series. First off, whomever decides to produce new seasons for series...this is a keeper! I've really liked everything Vicky McClure has been in and this is matching addition. This series is action packed with twists, with tension that makes your toes curl and a tiny drop of relationships between characters. Speaking of characters; everyone has been very believable portraying their roles and perfectly cast. Brit drama strikes again. I take a lot of time researching series that I feel, are worth binging. This one I look forward to; happily anticipating every episode.

Cried smiling three times so far...
16 July 2023
So as my title said, I DID cry three times and I'm not even done the third season. I guess it's a cry for each one 😌. Wonderful, wonderful series that includes lol, tears (obviously) and chuckles and laughter. The warmest actors that you will fall in love with and as a straight woman I am proud to say I've fallen in love with Nikki as well as Jason. The diverse supporting actors have been cast perfectly for their roles. They make you believe in their love for the couple.

There are some series that I watch and there are other series I go back and watch from the beginning, repeatedly. I very much look forward to starting the pilot...again...and again...and again...

Ted Lasso (2020–2023)

Speechless...
19 June 2023
When I came across "Ted Lasso" on my painful journey after finishing a series, I saw it was rated 8.8. Holy crap, it must be incredible because NOTHING is rated that highly. Well, after watching it I wish there was a user rating higher than a 10. It was in fact, incredible.

I started watching this by myself and found this show to be a little shot of anti-depressant that will happily continue working at least an hour after you've watched it. I laughed repeatedly through each episode so I told my husband who was a little "work stressed", watch this show, it will lighten your load and it didn't disappoint.

Storylines amazing; cast perfect. I'm not giving a whole lot about show details because I've clogged up my review with my reaction to it. Sorry.

Watch it; just watch it and you won't be able to stop. Trust me.

If only there was a rating higher than 10

This show is the top. I could not have enjoyed it more. I couldn't wait to watch each episode. Fantastic storyline, incredible acting from EVERY single person. Steve Carell is one of the most diversive actors I've ever seen. I'll be honest, Jennifer Aniston had always been "Friends" to me (which I loved) and I'd never really seen her in anything else but let me tell you; I was blown away with the depth she put into this character. Reese Witherspoon, well come on; it's Reese Witherspoon you really can't go wrong. You believed her character wholeheartedly. This was one of the best series I've ever watched (and Lord I've watched many). Polished to perfection.

This was a fantastic series
24 April 2023
I enjoyed every minute of this series. There are some shows that you start watching and they're a little bland and they slip away from you watching and you never really feel the need to pick them up again. This by far, is not one of them. I very much looked forward to watching each captivating episode. The lack of a second season is justifiable. This series is very complete as it is.

Casting was great. Characters were dynamic. Personal struggles were very real and believable. I would highly recommend this series to anyone who wanted to watch something with depth; something really worthy of taking the time to see.

Very much look forward to each episode.

You know how you flop down with the Tivo remote and sigh "what's recorded"? This is a show that I make a point to see when it comes on because I very much look forward to it. The perfect blend of crime, wit and warmth that would melt the coldest Tivo remote holder. Ramon Rodriguez gives a fantastic performance and the character relationships that he has with his costars are very much believable, all the way down to his tiniest once ignored and now adored "Betty". I hope this review doesn't make this show sound completely "gushy" because it is a crime show but it's just that, well, you'll fall in love (be it girly or bro) with Will Trent.

Fantastic. Completely and utterly satisfying.

Warning: Spoilers
I totally agree with the other reviewer; this was not a laughable sitcom type of production, not by a long shot. This was a dramedy with brilliant characters who had different plot lines that ended up merging, leading to viewers resounding "YESSS!". The ending showed each moving on to their next lot in life. VERY satisfying show. Music accompaniment was perfect and Christopher Walken, well...priceless. I honestly enjoyed each character due to their diversities being very well defined. Friendships unexpectedly developed between characters who normally would lead lives quite the opposite of their "cohorts in crime" shall we say.

If you're on the fence about this show, then fall over to the side of watching it through to the end. At this point season two seems to be the finale. On one hand I'd love to see more but on the other would okay if this completed the show. It's THAT good.

Utter happiness
13 August 2022
I was so, well, fortunate to have found this series. I only wish there were more seasons. Technically, the storylines could have gone on. Some shows you see an ending to but this one could have gone on. "Mum" was both happily and poignantly thought provoking. I chuckled and cried throughout the entire thing. I found myself forced to hold off binging this series just so I could continue watching it the next day. It was directed brilliantly and each actor seemed delightfully made for their part. Oh just watch it. It's difficult to convey just how completely charming this show is; an absolute multifaceted gem.

This series is like a hidden Hope diamond. Fantastic. You love to hate Adrian Dunbar's character. Brilliant acting by all. I was completely engaged. "Ok I'll only watch ONE more episode tonight", unfortunately my effort was futile; salivating to see what happens next. You started thinking one way and then were twisted in the complete opposite direction. No one likes humdrum. You won't be sorry.

The Gilded Age (2022– )

Well, I started it...I guess I'll have to finish it.
1 April 2022
A lot of reviewers talked of Downton Abbey and comparisons between the two...SO I'M GONNA DO IT TOO! I tried to think of words that defined Downton that could not be found in Gilded Age. One word was "natural". Others were "gritty and authentic and captivating". It just didn't seem like the same exquisite detail went in to Gilded. I was not swept away to the era and anxiously waiting for the next episode. You were pulled into Downton. There were a few times just in the first episode where I teared up. WTH show is capable of that?? Sadly, not Gilded Age. Nice try Julian but this was written on the threadbare tails of Downton and it has barely held on.

Seriously, is anyone listening because I don't think I could yell any louder. This series is great. It is a well hidden gem that definately needs to be more accessible. Thrilling storylines and and brilliant acting. During the first episode I found myself wanting to take Sean by the shoulders and shake him all the while yelling "you're driving me crazy but I love it!" Yes, this should have definately been a series. Fantastic.

I liked it
19 February 2022
I don't know; I liked it. I'm a huge fan of the dark and beautifully intense British shows that one reviewer talked about watching on a dreary overcast day but you could clearly tell from the trailer, this wasn't that kind of show. I check out trailers before I invest in a show. Anyway yes, it doesn't have the dark depth of Crime or Line of Duty. It's lighter and "easier". There doesn't seem to be the multiple deceptive plots which is kind of nice for a change. Everyone is entitled to their opinion of course, but it's a nice change of pace. Tonight I'm sure I'll be watching something with gloriously deep and twisted motives and so forth. But this will be in my back pocket to pull out often when I need to exhale.

REALLY well done!
17 February 2022
There are points in the episode where she speaks to the camera and at first I wasn't sure I liked that format but halfway through the first one I was hooked! Nicola Walker is absolutely fantastic. Her sarcastic remarks are comedically timed perfectly. I watched Jamie Sives in Crime and it's like night and day. Great acting range. Each character very engaging. Can't wait to watch the next one!

EXCELLENT series!

Each series is better than the last. It's a shame there's only 6! The acting is superb all around. Mind you, closed captions might be a good choice because the beautiful accents are thick! Deep and engaging storylines that you can't seem to stop watching. I'm up at 3am and my phone is plastered to my face watching this. I'm so glad I found this series!

Pretty unimpressive. There's no depth to it and just not engaging at all. It's sort of over dramatic and the acting is pushed too hard. Cheesy music too.

I LOVE this series
23 October 2021
I am currently watching this series to completion four times now and it never gets old and I find something new every time. The show is excellent; a little dark and completely engaging. New characters pop up with unique features and well thought out histories. I wish there were more seasons (yeah I know there were six but I'm just greedy that way lol).

VERY dark and deep and very authentic. There were some scenes I couldn't watch though because they a little graphic, now I'm not saying it's bad, just a little too much for me. It's a very mysterious piece of work and very much keeps you engaged.

This is pretty good; nothing negative to note. I especially like Paula Newsome as the lead. You inow how you can watch a show and one of the characters can just grate on your nerves but you keep watching, I get nothing but positive vibes from this. Well done.

Fantastic series!
15 May 2021
After each episode I can't wait for the next one! I'd almost like to skip a week or two just to have more than one to watch at a time. Like saving the whipped cream until last so you can dive in unabashed all at once. The plot is something you can really sink your teeth into. If you liked "The Killing" you'll love this. Kate Winslet, just wow. Quite frankly, the entire cast is so powerful. Well worth watching.

Oh holy cow!
4 February 2021
This show was umm...TOTALLY AWESOME! I figured "well, pandemic; not too many regular shows airing so I'll check it out". I'm so glad I did. I haven't laughed out loud at a show in a long time. Good cast, really funny humor. It's kind of a goofy story line so I can see why you might question it but give it a try. You may find it "totally awesome" too! ...and hell, you may not but at least check it out!

Really like it
28 January 2021
I like the hosts a lot. A far cry from goofy Ghost Adventures. I like Ghost Nation (ghost hunters) because like this, the investigators are normal people But with Kindred Spirits, evidence is clearly presented. It's engaging and as far as the reviewer who gave it a 3 and the reason they rated it that low, upon watching the whole series there was a special episode that showed all the technical aspects of the show, producers and editors who for the fact that episodes are an hour long cut out hours of silent evp responses. Obviously they're there for a few days and they have to fit that into an hour so of course they only provide footage where there's evidence. Duh.

Completely engaging
28 January 2021
I watched the other documentary these two produced (Cropsey) and really liked it so finding this was a gem. I don't know if they've done anything else but I will check for sure. I loved the way they didn't use actors, it was actually them doing all the legwork. Showing how they talked to all kinds (and I mean ALL kinds) of people was really incredible. Well done.

Absolutely gripping
28 January 2021
I think this may be the most intense documentary about a true crime I've ever watched. I was completely blown away. I think the way it was done was totally engaging. I think I binged it all in one night! And I will tell you this, after watching it I've started locking the deadbolt.

For the love of Pete !
19 October 2020
Why why was this show cancelled after two seasons??!! This show was fantastic. All star cast, excellent storyline (that could have extended into more seasons), intriguing little storylines that branch off (I don't know what they're called but you know what I mean). You watch an episode and you itch for the next one. An absolute shame. I really hope the only reason this was cancelled was because one of the (fan-freakin-tastic) members of the cast was leaving to do other things. That's the only acceptable reason because it certainly wasn't because of the show itself. Shame...an absolute shame.
