Inside Out (I) (2015)

Original idea?
14 February 2016
What a wonderfully original idea. I can't imagine there having been anything like this before. It might have been a motion picture, or a short, or an episode of a television series, or a television mini-series, or even a full-blown comedic television series. Who knows? If it had been produced, it might have been on the air between 1991 and 1994. It might have been a live action series rather than an animated cartoon or computer generated imagery animation. It might have been about a male character with people in his head representing his thoughts, moods, emotions, or personalities, instead of a female character. Just to be sure it would not have been a complete copy, it might have had a completely different title. Like "Herman's Head". Just to be sure I completely made all of this up, feel free to look that title up in IMDb.

Duck Soup (1933)

What's the problem with "Duck Soup"?
7 August 2008
I have to disagree with the User Comment on the main page for this flick (by JRenee), where (s)he says, "this movie does not require ... offensive dialog to make it watchable over and over again." Because from my point of view, it does contain offensive dialog (or monologue). I refer, of course, to the racist joke Groucho tells. It's the one about the Armstrongs. The punchline was, "Then the Headstrongs met the Armstrongs, and that's where the darkies came from." I recorded this movie about twenty years ago because an associate of mine used the song "Hail Freedonia" as an example of hypocrisy. So I watched it. I was going to save it (don't tell the Copyright Office!), but because of that joke, I erased it after I viewed it.

Time Trax (1993–1994)
What's really funny about Time Trax
21 May 2005
Warning: Spoilers
When I saw the summary from the only user comment on the page for this series that it was very funny, I had to read the whole comment to see if the poster found the same thing humorous as I did. Then I found that the only thing this user found so hilarious was that it was filmed in Australia, but not set there. Like no other flick or TV show ever was shot in a different location than where the story was set. Whatever.

What I thought the comment was about was the logical inconsistencies in the story. The one that really stands out is the fact that the series is based on the multiple-universe model of time travel. So when Lambert meets one of the time-traveling criminals he is in our time to target, he tells him that his scheme to change the future won't work because he is in a different universe; his actions in the past can only alter the future of that universe. Yet one of the things Lambert himself does in almost every episode is to communicate with his buddies in the future by placing classified ads in newspapers. That obviously wouldn't work for the same reason. Duh!
