Let Him Go (2020)
Slow burn - Explosive ending - full of love and respect
Fantastic film. Diane Lane was as good as ever. It was great to see her act her age. She is as beautiful as ever. I fell in love with Kevin Costner's character. The relationship they portrayed was a beautiful example of love and respect. It was damn near perfect with it's flaws. I don't think that is portrayed in movies often enough.
This is one of Costner's greatest renderings. I've been a fan for years, but in the beginning he wasn't the greatest actor respectfully. He has fine tuned his craft and he is in a word - outstanding.
The other actors are also fantastic. Not a weak one in the bunch.
The violence in the film was fitting. I'm going to read the book now. I usually read the book first, but I am going to make an exception.
I would highly recommend this film. It is one of the greatest slow burns I've ever seen. 'A Woman Under the Influence', 'Do the Right Thing' (1989), 'The Right Stuff", 'To Kill a Mockingbird' (1962), 'Frankenstein' (1931), 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest', '12 Angry Men' (1957), 'The Silence of the Lambs' (1991), 'American Graffiti' (1973), 'On the Waterfront' (1954), and 'Notorious' (1946) are films I would compare this to.
Watch it if you like any of these. You may understand what I mean.
I don't think you will be disappointed even if you don't like it as much as I did.
Don't Look Up (2021)
In love and light...enlightening propaganda?!?!
Fake news, lovers turned opportunists, Trumpsters, mindless millennials, make nicers, mansplainers, ETC!! To lessen the blunt prejudice my favorite repeated comment paraphrased, "It is his generation." LOVED the obsequious Jason's (Jonah Hill) last post. Originally, I thought what are these A listers doing in this movie! Then I watched it. Perfect for Leonardo!! Speaking of, his character's grand arch and ultimate evolution makes this movie worthwhile.
Blending Christmas (2021)
BLENDING CHIRSTMAS is sweetness for everyone
Brady boxes minus 'Marsha, Marsha, Marsha' and Oliver = Easter Eggs Everywhere. Talk about a sweet Christmas Movie!!!
Where weepy is wonderful. All ages can enjoy this one, folks.
