King Arthur (2004)
well, maybe if it had character development it wouldn't suck
SPOILER
What? did they really think we wouldn't realize that there was no character development, and that it doesn't have a thing to do with the actual story of King Arthur??!!?? If a movie doesn't show you more than 1 side of a character, they will get old and stale. All the, supposedly, bold and courageous knights never show any REAL emotions, and the bad guys are just in the movie to sneer, act evil, and eventually get their butts kicked by King Arthur and his knights.
One of King Arthurs closest friends dies in the final battle of the film and they try to make it sad and tragic...... I don't even remember which one of his friends dies, you know why???
BECAUSE YOU DON"T CARE IF SOMEONE DIES THAT HAS NO CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT OR REAL ROLE IN THE MOVIE OTHER THAN ACTING HEROIC AND BRAVE.......... The real King Arthur is rolling over in his grave because of this movie.
Spider-Man 2 (2004)
spidey 2: feels less like just another marvel movie.
Spiderman 2 avoids a lot of bad marvel characteristics that would've made it a B movie. The original Spiderman was, I think, the best marvel movie of its time, that being said, I'm not a big fan of the marvel franchise. They all have a basic formula, and seem a little too far fetched, in a corny, random way at times. Sure, a mad scientist with 8 limbs who's name is Oswald Octavius is pretty far fetched, but the fact that Peter Parker is torn between being a superhero and just a regular geeky kid in college made the movie actually feels quite believable. Alfred Molina (Doc Ock) does a superb job at not overdoing his part, so he's not only evil, but cool. Definitely a better villain than green goblin in Spidey 1. The special effects in Spidey 1 were great and Spidey 2's effects are even better(no surprises there). Tobey Mcguire is PERFECT for the part, and he's a believable actor, and it's nice to see Kirsten Dunst do a little more than just screaming and looking helpless and pretty like in Spidey 1. Great movie , go see it! 8.8/10.
Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)
I want the old Lucas back
When the Phantom Menace came out in 99, I was confused about all the criticism about it. I saw it, and like it to this day. Sure I wanted to see Jar Jar die in a brutal chainsaw incident. But there were so many great things about episode 1, it was remembered for it's worst moments. However I have no sympathy for episode 2 at all. It just plain sucked. It had similar flaws to 'Menace', but at least 'Menace' was exiting. Count Dooko wasn't half as cool as darth Maul, and the lightsaber sequences between anakin, obi-wan and count dooko, weren't as fast and gripping as Darth Maul vs. obi-wan and Qui-gon in Episode 1.The brilliant song, Duel of the Fates from episode 1's Darth Maul fight wasn't heard in the lightsaber scene at the end of episode 2, but when anakin was riding a speeder.........WHAT THE @#$#*#!!!! George Lucas may just be the most genius writer/storyteller of our time, but as a director, he sucks. He should write the movies, not direct. 5/10.
Titanic (1997)
titanic: visuals rock,script lacks
Titanic is a romantic tear-jerker set in 1912, based on, of course, the ill fated voyage. Leo Dicaprio and Katen Winslet play two young lovers(leo, a little too young looking)aboard the unsinkable ship.
The relationship between Leo and Kate felt a little rushed at times, but I suppose they had to skip to the most predictable part of the movie, when the ship sank.James Cameron spent 200mil. making this flick, so yes the visuals of the sinking ship are spectacular. You go back and forth between the suspencefull scenes, seeing leo and kate trying to escape the ship from the inside(cameron at his best). And the eye candy moments of seeing helpless passengers falling off the ship that's suspended in mid air.Sure the end of the movie is sad, but it wouldn't have been at all without the brilliant music by james horner. Cameron's script is quite empty and flat, actually. the movie soundtrack is more worth your money than the movie is. I give it a 6.9 out of 10
