Chip Chilla (2023)
It's what it advertised
Daily Wire said they were releasing agenda-free, entertaining kids content. That's what it is. I watched 2 episodes with my girls to see it for myself. I laughed along with them, approved, and left them to it. For the next bit while they watched and I went downstairs I continued to hear bursts of laughter. My oldest is 11, she said it was good but didn't rave about it but did like it. Youngest is 7 and was the one cracking up.
Forget sides, I don't want any political agendas pushed on my kids. I want them to be kids. This delivered. I'm looking forward to seeing what else they have in store. I'm hoping for more of the same mentality for adolescents like my oldest daughter but we haven't checked any of the other shows on the platform yet.
Inside Man (2022)
The rating of this show is a reflection on society
How is this not rated higher? I found it absolutely riveting and engaging. Maybe I'm the oddball who likes talking about things like ethics, morality, and justice. I found the vicar's situation to be incredibly complex and how he played it out (I'm only 2 episodes in so more to come) was incredibly...I'm at a loss for words. It was powerful. I'll say that. Who is innocent? Who is guilty? Who would be tried for what? How would God judge their actions. There's so much going on to contemplate. Story - great. Acting - great (hats off to the character and portrayal of Stanley Tucci's). Vicar and wife - great. This should be used as a case study (fictional as it may be) for ethics classes at the graduate degree level and above.
Now...as I said - I'm 2 episodes in. Here's hoping it stays on course.
28 Days Haunted (2022)
An interesting topic and concept
I don't really buy into the paranormal side of the supernatural but I think it's interesting so would like to see something to get me to believe. However, this is not it. Other reviews dubbed the people as actors but if they were actors they would have more believable portrayals. They are not convincing or engaging and I think it was foolish for them to sign up for this show because they are outing themselves as frauds. If they do this as a profession to live, I can't imagine anyone seeing this and saying, "yes, I want them to investigate my house."
High hopes for a creepy show in the Halloween season but let's just say I didn't lose any sleep over it.
The Terminal List (2022)
CP does it again!
Pratt himself calls it a series for operators and veterans. Compelling story writing on par with the quality and grit of Tom Clancy, so kudos to Jack Carr for that. Visually it's refreshing to see more realistic tactical movement and weapons use than usual Hollywood productions with the exception of the shooting style of Keanu in John Wick. And no dumbing down of tactical language like every time a movie mentions an EMP Hollywood feels like they need to explain what it is. Here I'm referring to CP's talk about EFPs. You know what it is or you look it up, it would be unrealistic for people in this situation to have to explain it to each other.
All around I salute everyone involved in this production. Can't wait to see what happens in season 2 - especially how things impacting CP's character overcome them.
