The Music Never Stopped (2011)
The emotional heart of a father's relationship with his son
I saw myself in the character of Henry Sawyer - which was superbly acted. The pinnacle of J.K. Simmons career. But don't watch it for that reason. Watch it if you've ever struggled to understand your son or let your child make their own mistakes. Or if you've ever had a child with a life- changing accident or disease. Or if you were that child. Or a child who struggled with their parents. OR if you've stood by while your husband improperly lashed out as his children. Or if you were that husband and you wish you weren't. I was. The movie made me cry. When I think about it, I'm still moved to tears by several scenes. No movie ever had that kind of an impact on me - the next two are probably Fireproof and Forest Gump. I pray this movie will help me change.
Don't push them away. Don't push away this move. Push play!
August (2008)
This movie would be better were it 5 minutes long
I do understand the markets, I'm studying IT in business right now, and I happened to see this movie. Most of it was like watching paint dry. How the casting director scored Rip Torn and David Bowie is beyond me. The movie is much like a .com company - all hype and no substance. I can just see the guy pitching his scrip right now to the VC's - he probably used that same material when doing the same scene in the movie. This movie rely's heavily on the F-bomb to make its point about businesses - or the lack of sense in business. It could have used witty dialog instead... There are some diamonds in this rough though - when David Bowie tell's you he doesn't like the way you've been handling your personal life, you know you've hit rock bottom!
The Brave Little Toaster (1987)
Worst movie ever
Next to Joe vs. the Volcano, this was the worst movie I have ever seen. I can't believe people have voted this 7.0 out of 10. Cinematography, soundtrack, animation quality, plot, let see, what else sucked? I can't believe this was a Disney movie. I can't believe I sat through the whole thing. I was mezmerized, like watching an accident scene. Horrible Horrible. I guess I was hoping something would turn around. It never happened. The worst part was the soundtrack. The songs were horrible, tasteless, non-melodical and completely forgettable. Never have I seen a worse abuse of a movie reel. Shame on Disney for letting this get out of their doors. I can't believe there was a sequel. Was the plot original? Maybe, but it was still predictable and horribly written. How can children relate to a college age male? I like Jon Lovitz and Tom Hanks, but I must say, they both made some stinkers. What a waste of talent in this movie. A waste of my time. I would have rather remove my finger nails and taken a wire brush to the underlying flesh. Ughh. Icky Icky Icky Icky. You know that feeling when you've touched a bug or rodent or something? Get this movie off me!
Mel Gibson: God's Lethal Weapon (2004)
I wish I were God, so I could make this movie disappear
This movie (if I can call it that) was really bad. Don't watch it. I can only guess that it is rated so high because the people who voted it high were told to vote high for it on this website. I find it hard to believe that so many mindless zombies out there would think this movie is truthful or accurate. Is it true? This movie was bad and awful and pointless, not to mention senseless. There are many other good movies out there you could be watching, why waste your time watching this one? I think all the people who like this move are the ones who have time to sit around watching movies all day because they aren't out volunteering or making this world a better place.
