Get a Job (2016)
Entertaining fun movie for what it is.
This movie was entertaining. Nowhere near as bad as some are saying. Get a Job doesn't take it self too seriously. From the get go the pace of the film keeps constant and at no time did it feel like it slowed down. It has a lot of heart and its not a movie that has jokes coming at you from left and right non stop through out the movie but the story telling and the comedy that it does have is more than enough.
It relies more on its story telling than its comedy which i found to be a good thing. All actors and actresses worked well together and the acting was very solid. It was exactly what i needed on a Friday night as i said earlier it has a lot of heart and at the end the movie entertained me and was a lot of fun. If i had to describe the movie i would say its a feel good movie. Its message at the end really hit home with me, the music used through out the movie worked and complimented the movie when needed. For what it is it did not disappoint.
Noah (2014)
Spectacular Movie
I found myself thinking about Aronofsky's Noah way after the credits were gone. Aronofsk's movie to me was an amazing movie, full of many undertones in the storytelling and on subject matter that one can relate to todays modern world, as many of the flaws Humanity has in this movie are very much still present in our world and society today.
The story for me was very true to what Noah at least to be as someone with faith is about. The movie Aronofsky has made is Visually amazing, the story touches on many aspects of the human condition true to a lot of Aronofsky's past works. If you have seen Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain you will find yourself immediately identifying this film as something made by Aronofsky the style is their and even the musical score rings true in the epic feel of what his work is known for.
The acting was excellent and everyone in the movie played their part just perfect. You will find a lot to think about in this movie. The burden of making huge decisions, carrying the responsibility of being human and wanting to preserve this earth we call home. The issues of life and death side by side with creation and destruction, Pain and joy. The respect of nature and our failure to recognize the value of were we live and only acknowledging and treating with respect what we see as rewarding to us by only placing value on things because they give us something instead of respecting and preserving, all glorious things. This movie is powerful its got a great story that should appeal to anyone, it has amazing visuals, the acting is excellent as the cast does nothing but deliver an amazing performance. One of many scenes which are memorable is a happy but also sad scene with Anthony Hopkins about living in the moment and without fear which involves him finding a fruit berry. Whether you like epic movies or your looking to see something that may make you think a little. I recommend this movie to anyone that appreciates good cinema.
The Inbetweeners Movie (2011)
A+ the inbetweeners
Excellent movie!! Delivers the goods on all fronts. I am a fan of the TV show and this movie was the swan song to the four main characters. The writing of the film has to be given credit it had a solid script which all involved executed perfectly. It was a great way to release the inbetweeners to the real world, i laughed through out and left me wanting more the ending was perfect and the movie did not drag on like many TV to Movies do(Borat,Bruno). I noticed that this movie flowed naturally and in no time did it feel like the film had lost momentum, this Is something that is notorious in other TV to movie films like the ones mentioned before. Good to know that the 4 fellas will be just fine one of the best feel good Movies I've seen.
La piel que habito (2011)
Beginning amazing, middle amazing, ending what ending?
The movie was visually amazing, the story was for me at least unbelievable. The acting was superb everyone gave 100%. I must say though that Almodovar always pays attention to detail but why did he end it the way he did. I really do think the ending was rushed it really takes the movie from being amazing to something ordinary. The ending should have received the attention the rest of the movie received instead it seems like the ending was something thought up almost like a improvisation to complete the film, extremely trivial ending seen a million times in other films. It was disappointing Almodovar ended it how he did a let down to all the great screen time from all the main actors and actresses, it was a very flat movie for me. Hopefully Almodovar has realized this and will not repeat this in his other future works, a well written ending is very important.
