Ninja Assassin (2009)
Wow !!!!
What a movie. This really kicks %$#@. I am a real Martial Atrs addict. I have done a course in Ninjutsu for 5 years and other styles over a 20 year period and must say that the whole martial arts scene is amazing.
This movie would have to be one of the best "Ninja" movies that i have seen. It uses the traditional ninja weapons and I do admit that dodging all those ninja stars would be ultimately impossible but then it is cinema and American at that. By that I mean over the top in places.
The film is centered around a traditional Ninja clan and its Sensei who is a most cruel teacher you would want to come across. The main Character is taken in to the school under the guise of the Ninja Master's new son and a rivalry begins between him and a rival student for supremacy.
He then falls for a "girl" who is gotten rid of in an execution and he breaks free from the clan. That is all I will say for fear of spoiling what takes place. Watch this movie with the view that it is going to be an action flick that will be over the top for most. It is as violent if not more so than Kill Bill but is still an enjoyable film. 9 out of 10 from me.
I enjoyed the movie very much and one word sums the whole movie up, Wow !
Someone Was Watching (2003)
I found this movie O.K.
Firstly I found the reviews from other people very strange indeed. What did you all expect? The film is from a low budget film studio and found the movie really O.K. It had plenty of twists and unexpected turns making a very guess as to what was happening. I enjoyed the film/DVD immensely and thought that the other reviews have been unfounded. Give these guys a go with a new attempt to keep us all guessing.
If you want a movie that keeps you guessing on the low budget scale that have a look. If you want the DVD then email me with your address and I will send you a copy.
As a summary I enjoyed it and have watched it many times. I have several thousand movies in my collection and enjoyed this one many times.
Enter the Dragon (1973)
The absolute best martial arts action movie ever made.
I am replying to the "Bloodsport" fanatic. Enter the Dragon is and always will be the one and only best martial Arts movie ever made. Van Damme's film is good even though the moves are repeated from different angles. The movie is based on true life situations but it still does not measure up to Bruce's genius. He choreographed all the fight sequences and also starred in the film. He helped with the story line and also had a part in the production so don't just say it is an average film.
Everyone knows the storyline behind this innovative film but all you really need to know before watching it is that Bruce Lee took an ancient art and modernised it so that true combat came to be by introducing a martial art without the old way of katas and patterns and taught a straight to the point immobilising the opponent with the least amount of effort and moves. Most importantly he taught his students to completely end the fight in the shortest possible time.
Enjoy "Enter the Dragon" as you will see an absolute martial art genius try to educate us Westerners that the Chinese are not the dimwits portrayed by Hollywood but instead shows that Chinese Martial Arts has true power.
