Solar Opposites (2020)
Like Rick and Morty but better
Super good show. Terry and korvo are surprisingly a really cute couple. I love korvo after the voice actor changed. Honestly rewatching the series felt weird. The British voice fits him perfectly. They do sci Fi stuff in a really funny and cool way. I love how character traits remain pretty consistent throughout the series. I appreciate that as most comedy shows tend to just change character personalities whenever they feel it works for a bit. But this show pays attention to characters and develops them in a really fun way. Plus the b storylines like the wall and the silver cops are really cool. I love how the b storylines are like their own separate show kinda.
Disenchantment (2018)
Great show
Season 1 was an absolutely great season. Seasons 2 and 3 kinda disappointed me, but then all the other seasons were really good again. I think luci absolutely makes the show. He's the best. I definitely think he deserved more at the end, like people didn't mourne him for enough time. By the end of the series he was a great friend who was selfless and kind, and bean and elfo kinda just brushed past his death a lot quicker than i would expect. Remember folks, bros before hoes. Lucis before pus-- I shouldn't finish that sentence. The trogs freaked me out. Those lil dudes are my sleep paralysis demons.
Rick and Morty (2013)
Good show
Rick and Morty is a really fun show. It's definitely the classic sci Fi show in the world of adult animation. I took off 2 points because anything regarding incest. I love Rick and Morty, I really do. But anything related to incest instantly makes me very uncomfortable. Like watching any episodes related to Naruto make me physically nauseous. And I know people might say to just get over it and not be a snowflake or whatever, but I don't care. Incest isn't funny at all to me.
Anyways on a good note, I love the new voice actors. They're super accurate. Also the characters are very fun in this show, definitely a memorable cast of characters.
Family Guy (1999)
Funny enough but over hyped
I think family guy is decently funny and it has done a lot for the world of adult animation. However it feels like their goal is to just cram as many laughs into an episode as they can. This leads to the episodes being super hit or miss. They don't have a lot of focus on quality. Lois is just a horrible character. She has no personality aside from unhappy nagging housewife. I mean all the characters are super one note, but Lois takes the cake when it comes to poorly developed characters. The animation is very repetitive and soulless. So those are my criticisms of the show. I do like the show, I just think there are a lot of flaws that people refuse to admit to just because the show has been around so long and developed a loyal fan base.
Archer (2009)
Really funny show
Seriously such a funny show. The one liners in this show are unmatched. I love the way they continue sentences between scenes as a transitional tactic. There's not a single character I actively dislike, they all serve their purpose and are really funny. I love the way the characters develop over the series. My favorite story arc was the Archer vice arc where they were selling the cocaine and Charlene was a country singer. I also like how the characters are clearly cool and bad a**, yet they're still complete messes. Like on one hand sterling is a cool spy who can do a lot of cool stuff, but also he's a man child. He's a fun character.
Futurama (1999)
Good show
I love Futurama. It's a great adult animation, very rewatchable and fun. My issue is the reboot episodes don't really feel true to the show. Maybe I'm just judging them too harshly, but they aren't as good as the old episodes.
I really like Fry, he's a solid dumb and loveable main character. Bender is a good sarcastic evilish best friend. And then Leela is the voice of reason character that keeps the others in line. I feel like this main trio has a pretty solid comedic group archetype. Using a trio of main characters with these base personalities can and does lead to lots of comedic possibilities.
American Dad! (2005)
My favorite show
American Dad is my favorite show. I've rewatched the series countless times. I think Roger's character is so smart cuz you they do so many different things with just one character. I love the way Stan evolves throughout the series, he turns into a real goofball over time and I love that. Francine is a cartoon mom that actually is funny and is a good character, unlike Marge Simpson or Lois Griffin type of characters. Just such a solid show. Some of my favorite episodes include Black Mystery Month, Minstrel Krampus, and Smooshed: A Love Story. I even have a tattoo of the illuminutty symbol and I have a Roger tattoo.
Kung Fu Panda 4 (2024)
Good movie
Funny. I enjoyed the art as well. Lots of attention to detail. Took away a star cuz there was one scene that slaps you right in the face with exposition and that felt a bit lazy to me. It's the scene where the bad guys are at the table. Jack Black did a great job, like always. The storyline was sweet. The villain was really cool, it was fun seeing all of Po's old enemies. I like the way that the film uses art that is reminiscent of ancient Chinese art. It feels very well themed and visually cool. Plus the bits of 2D animation mixed in with the 3D stuff looks really cool. The plot was a bit predictable but it's a kid's film so I give it a pass.
