Couples Retreat (2009)
Cannon Fodder to watch on a rainy day..
A relatively forgettable film in all accounts apart from the two main stars ; 1) The location 2) Peter Serafinowicz. I personally think Peter stole the whole film and the "Dueling Guitar" scene was memorable for the dialog if not the actions.
Vince has now run his course and needs to move away from the same old same old we are now used to seeing him in. Mash Adam Sandler or Ben stiller in this one and you would see no difference either.
Kristen Bell looks miscast, as does Jean Reno. Some of the scenes are cringe-worthy, especially the ultra non funny masturbation scenes. Should you have something better to watch I would suggest you do so first.
Kingdom of Heaven (2005)
Directors Cut is the only version you need watch!!!
For those who come to the reviews following a review of the theatrical release intending to add their fuel to the negative, I implore you to first take a rental of the "Directors Cut".
One of the few films where the "DC" material REALLY makes the difference between a Turkey and a classic.
I must say that few films or even scenes today send my spine tingling but a few moments in KOH were simply breathtaking. I agree that Bloom did not carry the lead, however, he was sufficient without detracting from the movie too much.
Take time to go through the Directors cut CD's, its really detailed and really takes the enjoyment of the film to a new dimension.
Lost: Epilogue - The New Man in Charge (2010)
Like eating a peanut butter sandwich with no water..............
As a bona fide 'Lostie' fan , again having just sat through seasons 1 to 6, I was pleasantly surprised to discover this little nugget of 12 minutes.....nicely, as is usual of the producers, leaving a whole bunch of new questions........ Does Walt know his dad is still back on the Island and why didn't Hurley tell him?...... Why is he in the same Institute as Hurley and Libby was before....? Where are the funds coming from for the Dharma food, even though the order is auto-generated? Why are there more than one location that Ben has to visit to shut down the Dharma food transfers.......?
Anyway, it leaves the door open for the future, which was the main idea I suppose... Ben and Hurley are such strong characters, they could certainly carry a lost off shoot of " The Island " ......
Even watching the final episodes for about the 6th time, I still picked up extra meanings that were missed on previous occasions. This one is no different......... RIP Lost, you will be missed!!!!.
