Star Trek: Lower Decks (2020)
Simply in love with everything about this show...
It's literally as much Star Trek as you can possibly get per second... it's hilarious and reminds me a lot of Rick and Morty in so many ways. The comedy mixed with the seriousness of Star Trek is so brilliant.. this isn't a kids cartoon, it's for mature audiences. I'm not good at reviewing but felt I had to express my love for this show and the itch that it scratches after watching TNG, DSN, and Voyager several times over the years I felt like I needed more Trek. I watched strange new worlds and fell in love with that show as well. While waiting for more SNW, I decided to binge lower decks and the four main lower deckers are just delightful.. not to mention the actual commanders of the ship are separate main characters that become more and more meshed with the lower deckers and vise versa as the show unfolds... seriously genius and deserves a watch by any Trek fan... There is also a fandom inside the show of all the characters we admire and it's so relatable and funny when the main characters make almost 4th wall breaking jokes. Such a fun show with so much more than I could have imagined.
Beavis and Butt-Head (2022)
So hilarious and brilliant!
Mike Judge is as brilliant as ever... The new seasons are his best work imho. Its easily the best of his Beavis and Butthead work. I particularly LOVE the slight alteration of Beavis's personality. Hes occasionally can be quite intelligent without realizing it but he also is usually actually quite a sweet character. I honestly never really got into the older B&B because the animation is quite crude imo. Mike Judge is unbelievably talented its crazy... Hes truly an artist in so many ways.. At 60 years old and is more relevant than ever, his edgy humor is a masterclass in comedy and I couldn't recommend the new seasons or any of his work in general.
The Last of Us: Long, Long Time (2023)
A masterpiece in storytelling....!
I don't even know how to properly review anything well enough to convey how much my human brain clicked with this episode.. I'm a straight white male and this episode helped open my eyes even more than I always have just out of decency as a human being. Simply beautiful and an episode I'll cherish personally and never forget. So far this show is so interesting and iv never actually had the opportunity to own a PS and the original games. Just wowed by this episode and the chemistry of the two characters. Nick Offerman deserves awards for his portrayal as Bill.. I never write reviews but felt particularly compelled to say something about this special treat of television that we rarely get. Love all who is willing to love you back and still try to love anyway. World would be a much better place.
James Acaster: Repertoire (2018)
Dear lord...
I have watched this probably 5 times now.. James Acaster is extremely unique and insanely funny. Who in this world would rate this 4/10 o.0 and say that they didn't have any "haha" moments... Maybe someone who can't understand brilliant comedy? This is such a great watch and there are 4! 50 min episodes.. James absolutely spoils the audience silly... Will always be one of my favorite comedy specials ever made.
