The Snowman (2017)
Avoid this if you've read the book
I read the Jo Nesbo novel in one day. All 500 pages of it. An entertaining serial killer thriller with great pacing.
The movie decided to change up almost everything from the book. The beginning. The ending. And most everything in between. The screenplay adapters should be tarrec and featherec for how badly they butchered this retelling. Quite simply an awful movie, one of the worst I've ever seen. Missing plotlines, character development, etc.
Having enjoyed the novel, I actually got angry while watching this film. What a betrayal to the book and the author. Did Jo Nesbo really sign off on this mockery of his work?
Pause with Sam Jay (2021)
The worst show of all-time
If hearing an obnoxious loudmouth suffering from Dunning-Kruger Effect talking over everyone else in the cast is your cup of tea, then boy do I have the show for you!
The Batman (2022)
What movie were y'all watching?
I'm not sure what movie folks were watching when they gave this movie glowing reviews. The newest installment of Batman movies was not good. In fact, it was comically bad. The acting, the script, the dialogue, the character backstory development were all terrible.
My favorite was how on numerous occasions the script was so awful that they had to use random lines of dialogue to explain what was happening.
I'm not a huge fan of superhero movies in general (the Tobey Maguire Spiderman movies pretty much soured my appetite for them for eternity). That said, I've always enjoyed the Batman films for whatever reason (probably because of the storyline's dark undercurrent).
The Tim Burton original movie was great campy, comic book style fun. Todd Phillips "The Joker" with Joaquin Phoenix was great. The gold standard, in my opinion, remains Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy.
Y'all need to raise your standards. This flick was terrible.
Industry (2020)
A Wannabe British Version of Billions
Take the show 'Billions'. Make it British. Make the characters unlikeable. Make it a shell of itself. The finished product you're left with is 'Industry'.
The Vow (2020)
Tedious & boring to watch
I went into this show excited because I live documentaries and was fascinated by the subject matter.
The first couple of episodes were fine, but then as the show's continued they just dragged on. I have fallen asleep twice now watching episodes. It becomes tedious to watch.
This coupled with the fact that the former cult members are all so darn unlikeable with their smugness and piousness. You'd think after you fell for a cult program, you'd be a little more humbled.
I don't recommend this show, unless you're looking for a cure for your insomnia.
