Fool's Paradise (2023)
They do not make them like this anymore.
First off, I must say; I adore Always Sunny, I get all the hate, nobody enjoys positivity and fun in todays world and in turn folks will dislike this flick. And by the reviews they do.
This flick felt like it was straight from my childhood, I grew up watching these types of movies, it has a 60s/70s/80s vibe of comedic filmmaking. It has a wholesomeness to it that is greatly missing in our society and humanity. Plenty of cameos from Sunny that fans will notice, the writing is fun, the directing is good, and it feels like something that is made with love in general. Shut your brain off, let the cast, but mostly Charlie Day entertain you.
Devs (2020)
Damn good show.
I am a sucker for science fiction, and highly enjoyed the journey this show took me on.One gripe; lead actress (Lily) is almost unbearable. Out of all the actresses on the planet, she is who they chose? All others acting in the show are quite good.
If you can get beyond Lily, it's a fun ride.
Unthinkable (2010)
Not Bad...
I personally don't understand all the love or hate for this movie, it wasn't good or bad. One thing I noticed fairly quickly was Samuel L. Jackson has become a parody of his former self, which is sad, otherwise everyone else was great. Although a thin plot and the played out themes of torture and Muslim(They are the new Russians!) terrorism are lows for this movie. Maybe if they focused more on the investigation side instead of torturing someone, things would have unfolded better. The directing was great, mainly a bad script and Sam Jackson were this movies biggest downfalls. Not a bad way to kill a evening if your into political thrillers. But if you want to see a better version of this movie it's the 2006 flick Five Fingers with Laurence Fisburne and Ryan Phillippe.
