Nochnoy dozor (2004)
What's up, vamp?
Stupid movie, to show off all the overdone special effects. Unsuprizingly, it is a horror movie (for some reason, the most popular genre in nowadays Russia). What does it have except lots of special effects... Like Chehov (Russian writer) once said, "If there is a gun on the wall in a story, it should fire in the end." Well, there are whole arsenal of "guns" in this movie, which have been loaded but never fired, if you get my meaning.
In general, the abundance of unpleasant scenes, violence and mystical "evil" makes the whole movie unbearably boring and unappealing to watch. An obvious setup for a sequel makes it even worse.
I've got myself both movies. After sleeping through the first one, I doubt, I'll force myself to waste time with its sequel.

You've gotta be into the Soviet-Russian culture to like this movie
Reading the previous comment made me to write my own. Well, most American musicals make me sick with a small exception of "Singing in the Rain". I believe, it just a different culture, so unless you are into the Russian-Soviet culture don't even dream of understanding these four Russian musicals.
The sole purpose of these movies is to make a New Year show consisting the songs that were popular among ordinary people. Sorry, no RAP or Jazz or Britney Spears in here.
I grade this movie at 8, since there is always some room for improvement. However, it is one of the best New Year shows for people, who remember USSR.
