Rise of Empires: Ottoman (2020)
A 15th Century Fairytale
This was an endearing documentary that slipped back and forth to todays professional insight. The strength and vision of Mehmed II, Sultan to be at five years old, and at 21 years old gathered his lifespan to control the outcome of the battle at Constantinople.
My heart and mind raced to keep up with the battles while my heart fell in love with this adorable hunk.
The Vizier who was in charge of his premature title of Sultan believed in another kind of battle of "don't tell them how well they are doing, they might get lazy if you do" attitude. Mehmed's mother struggled through the whippings while trying to appease her son with "its going to be ok" attitude.
Abuse and a strong goal of winning the war against the Roman Empire fed Mehmed's soul and body with determination and a swift ending to revenge towards being a man who could rise up and make great decisions.
I have personally cared for and cried for this empire that did not give up. It began with Resurrection and taking me through many wonderful movies that changed my mod of genre I now watch. I speak only English but read the closed captions through many Turkish films. I feel so historic and in love with the Magnificent Century film. Who knows someday I will understand the language, however, all of the characters spoke with their hearts too, so I understood it just fine.
