Amazing Visuals, Average Story...
8 January 2001
As the title says, this movie has amazing visuals and is worth going to see or buy on DVD or VHS just for that reason. But the plot although interesting and immersive does seem quite weak and overall degrades the rating for this movie.

Some of the characters vocals will make you sick and seem very inappropriate for this kind of movie but if the graphics were not so amazing then I would tell you to forget this movie. BUT WAIT!

There is some sort of feeling you get while watching this movie either for the first time or for the fourth time. Maybe it's the amazing musical score provided by James Newton Howard, or the drop-dead gorgeous visuals or maybe the story isn't too bad after all. It is hard to explain but I would say that this movie is a MUST buy on DVD and maybe worth renting on VHS.

Toy Story 2 (1999)

The Best Animation Movie to Date.
8 January 2001
Dinosaur may have had the best visuals, The Lion King may have had the largest box office but nothing can touch Toy Story 2 in the story department.

Not only does Toy Story 2 improve leaps and bounds over the original in every single way such as it's story, visual effects and even musical score. It is a must buy DVD or VHS, and comes fully packed with some of the best DVD features to date and will have you filled with joy and excitement child or adult.

Just remember that Toy Story 2 is not just for kids but for anyone who appreciates amazing animation, groundbreaking plot and an immersive musical score.

Titanic (1997)

The Box Office Speaks For Itself!
8 January 2001
Titanic is simply the 'perfect' movie. No movie will come close to its genius story and it's emotional musical score brought to life by James Horner.

There is a reason Titanic grossed over 1.8bn worldwide and it has nothing to do with Leonardo DiCaprio, although his part was played well. It is because there will never be a movie this amazing and deep.

Titanic is such an amazing movie, filled with excitement and drama but I have to say it...emotion! Yes I am a male and I found this movie very upsetting, the way Cameron builds up the story and character is sheer genius.

Years from now it will be looked upon as the 'movie of our time', the movie that destroyed Star Wars and all other movies before it. A true classic and if you don't have it on DVD or VHS then GET IT!

An Instant Disney Classic!
21 October 2000
Dinosaur in a word is as the title says "An Instant Disney Classic". Dinosaur is an interesting mix of stunning visuals, one damn amazing soundtrack and a storyline which in all fairness is not the best but considering the theme of the movie, it places you into the movie itself. The prospect of dinosaurs that talk may not be your cup of tea however due to the dazzling visuals and prehistoric musical score you feel like you are part of the adventure, all done so well too. I went seeing the movie with an average outlook but came out of the cinema feeling for the characters and the movie as a whole.

Top Disney Movies (my list)

1. The Lion King 2. Toy Story 2 3. Dinosaur 4. Tarzan 5. Toy Story 6. A Bugs Life

If you have not seen it yet, I recommend that you do!

They Don't Make Em Like This Anymore!
6 August 2000
This movie is with out a shadow of doubt the most terrifying movie of all time. Sam Raimi has done not just good job on creating this movie and indeed the whole trilogy but a record-breaking attempt at making a horror movie. Sure many will say that this honour should go to movies such as the Exorcist. But really what does that movie have to offer that is scary. A head spinning round that's about all and even that does not amaze. If this movie were released once again at the cinema, it would do very well indeed. Even now you have got the game hitting the Dreamcast this year (evil dead: hail to the king). I have not seen this movie in about 5 years and still I can remember every second of it. I need help in finding this movie and if anyone in the UK knows where I can buy it from then I will be most grateful. Please contact me on the address below.

I give this movie 9/10, Hey no movie is perfect!

X-Men (2000)

Xcellent
23 July 2000
While in the USA this week I went to see X-Men, expecting a not so bad movie. Little did I realise that I was in for a very BIG surprise. X-Men is what I would say one of the best movies so far. Combining 'The Matrix' style SFX and fighting styles. Patrick Stewart really livens the whole story and makes it come to life. He is a superb actor (in for a Knighting I think) and puts the movie right at the top. I hope this movie goes on to smash its way into the US top 100, but for that it would have to earn at least $135 million. Can it make it? I think it can.

If you have not yet seen X-Men I would recommend that you do and fast. I went expecting to see an over the top comic book with some moderate SFX. I was wrong and it turned out to be better that 'The Matrix' and exceeded my expectations.

Go and see! (9/10) Hey no movie is perfect!

Harrison Ford At His Best!
20 March 2000
This movie is by far the most gripping movie of all time! I am a great fan of Mr. Ford and his acting in the movie is spectacular! The graphics alone will shock you and the music by Jerry Goldsmith is very delightful. Anybody who knows Jerry Goldsmith's work will note a Star Trek feel to the music! To sum it up this is a total movie and very watchable over and over again! 10/10

The Best Dinosaur Documentary Ever!
2 March 2000
Walking With Dinoasaurs is a new and exciting programme that uses amazing visual graphics to display the living dinosaurs. The information presented here is stunning. The moods in the series alter to get your attention, things such as dramatic music when fights break out. There is clear evidence here for one cracking documentary! My greatest thanx to the writers, directors and producers, and not forgetting the other people involved. If you stumble accross this video in shops I suggest you buy it not just for the graphics, but for the extreme efforts and productive work the series has to offer. 10/10

Stunning Acting From Patrick Stewart
2 March 2000
I am a huge fan of Patrick Stewart and his acting in this movie was amazing. What you have to admire is his accent during the movie, as he talks in a Shakespearean tone. To do this must be very hard but he does it as though he speaks this was normally! The movie as a whole is quite gripping and worth watching if it is on TV. 6/10

Most Certainly One Of The Most Gripping Sci-Fi Movies!
20 February 2000
Star Trek has not only been very successful over the past thirty years, but it has generated a new genre of movies. Sci-Fi is not the most popular genre of film. When I went to the premier of Insurrection the atmosphere was unlike any I have experienced before. People laughed, and silenced when the sad scenes arrived. It is clear to me that the Director (J. Frakes) and the producers of the movie have done the best job in this movie than in any other. 10/10
