The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010)
Bye Edmund, Lucy and... Narnia
I enjoyed the third movie only because I'm a big fan of the books and the previous ones. Although I have to say that I was as sad as Edmund and Lucy at the end because just as them, I don't think we will be coming back to Narnia anymore. The special effects and make up lacked the magic of the first two movies, the dialogs were almost too teenager at points losing the wittiness and greatness of the kings and queens we've learned to love and admire. Eustace was at points irritating. And I couldn't stop having the feeling that there was no turning back. We're going to have to learn to love the name of Aslan in our world, because I have serious doubts we will be back anytime soon. To Aslan, Narnia and the Kings and Queens of old. Farewell...
Pacto de sangre (1987)
A dark retrospective of an incestuous relationship
Excellent perspective of the "very close" relationship between brother and sister in a mid 20th century Venezuelan hacienda. It's a deep and interesting retrospective view of an incestuous relationship threatened by the intromission of the new girlfriend and possible future wife of this family's only son's. Their lifes make unexpected turns as the story goes by. Should they be punished? Should they be judged? Sometimes the worst judge of us is ourselves.
With a little bit of the forbidden love between the brother and sister in V.C. Andrew's "Flowers in the Attic" and a hint of solitude, their past will transform them in the present personas they have become.
