Tarantula (1955)
Big, and Misunderstood
Mara comes to us in this one as a nieve post Grad Student, hoping to work for the scientists that she so admires. Men who throw caution to the wind, have no concept of the damage that could be caused, in order to help a world that could possibly run out of food in the next 300 years or so. Two men and a student go to work to conquer this problem, and as men do they find the answer they are looking for, but some where along the way the forgot the question. Our star, yes, the tarantula, is set free in a munitant vs man fight. terry is then free to reek havoc over the miles sournding this tiny town, some call it looking for supper. until he comes home to her house that he was born in. all the attempts to distroy him fail, until Clint appears, yes the man with no name is in this film!, and they ...well you watch the film to find out. remember, this is a '50 flick, and should be judged on its merits alone. you wouldn't compare the kitty hawk to the space shuttle now would you? so, have fun and enjoy, this is a good flick, fater all it spawned two others, "food of the gods, and prophacy." not bad for a "B" movie.
May The Creaturs Be With You.
Rags to Riches: Pilot (1987)
better than the music man
this is the most compelling movies of its kind. there is wormth compassion, greed, and deceet. all mixed up in a mary popins setting.
in an attempt to win a multi-million dollar contract with a frozen food company, Nick Foly, gets some girls from an orphanage. with the soul intent of shipping them back with in a month. suprize, he falls in love with the girls, and realized that the current girl is only out for his money.(almost too late.) the rest is a romantics dream come true. I feel the best sceen in the movie is nicks' realization that he wants to be a father "their" father. with teddy bare in hand he sings about his.... well you get the movie and find out, but when you do get your favorite person, a candle, and turn down the lights. guys, let her see your softer side, she'll love you for it.
The Giant Claw (1957)
NOT A PREHISTORIC BIRD
This cold war flick is out of the norm. This addresses life on other worlds, not to different from "Earth vs the Flying saucers."(less harryhousen). If you are a B buff, you will find this movie entertaining. the person who wrote the intro, please this is not Q.
Please realize that this is the 50's, and they are trying. look for Mara, she just came off the tarantula set. she was good there also.
MAY THE CREATURES BE WITH YOU!!
