Unseen Evil (2001)
Speechless!
I don't have to say much. Everything is already told by the other users. All i have to say is that this "movie" gave me those rare moments in life when you literally stay with your mouth open. Especially at its ending. It was THAT bad. And thankfully and i didn't watch it from the beginning. I put 2 stars instead of 1 just because i didn't change the channel and made me stay and watch how bad a movie can be. The acting was laughable, the cgi effects are ridiculous (i mean, why didn't just use animatronics or something cheaper if they didn't have money? it would be more real than this!). I can't believe that people actually put money on this (no matter how low the amount), there are much better and more "professional" movies on youtube.
Sisters (2006)
What an awful movie!
I saw this film yesterday in a special screening. At least it was free! Oh my god what a terrible movie. The script sounded promising and i am sure they could come up with great ideas based on the central story. But No! This is just an awful mess. The directing is just average, and the story is lame. But the worst thing about this film is the acting. All actors seemed bored, there was no chemistry between them and their acting was much worse than a bad soap opera! Even the "random false-alarm scares" are the most ridiculous i have ever seen. There is actually one scene where the camera zooms at the main actress'es face and a loud, scary sound is heard and...well THAT'S IT! It happened for no reason. They didn't show anything after that! Half the theater was laughing all the time. Usually my ratings are between 5 and 9, because i can always see the "effort" even in bad movies. But this one gets a straight "3".
Irréversible (2002)
Just a quick note...
*SPOILER* I am not going to add another extremestic review on if this film was the BEST or the WORST film i have ever seen as everybody does, but just mention that i find it very strange that nobody seems to notice that they killed the wrong man at the end and not the rapist... Ironic isn't it?
Signs (2002)
Full of signs...
I' start by saying that i enjoyed Sixth Sense (actually its ending saved it a lot), and even more Unbreakable (it talked to me in deeper way, and i am not even sure why i liked it so much).
Now about SIGNS, although i didn't enjoy it that much, i am sure a second view to it would pay off more. (MINOR SPOILERS) Many people critisized it heavily about the water-feared aliens and wondered how could that movie be so full of "stupid" and unrealistic ideas.
I'll answer with a question...
Didn't anybody see the "stars and moons" holes on the door and windows at the ending? Would a violent, and most of all, REAL alien try to do such a thing?
Maybe the arrow-like signs just targeted the troubled homes, the ones that needed "God's help".
As the movie said "the are 2 kinds of people, those who get it and those who don't". The aliens WERE the miracle.
The thing that actually distracted me from loving the film, was the strong efforts of the director to show-off his directing skills. He made that so obvious, that most of the people were wrongly agreed that it had great camerawork. For me great camerawork is the one that makes you feel inside the movie and not leaving you thinking "nice shooting angle" when you watch it. Same thing for soundtracks.
In other words and always according to my personal opinion most people got it completely opposite.. It had great story, but too pretentious directing.
Bandits (2001)
Really funny!
I went to the cinema, although a friend of mine insisted that it was a very bad movie. Well if you ask me...he was WRONG! i won't get into to technical, script or acting details... i 'll just say that: Somebody posted that this movie was one of the FEW comedies that really made him laugh loud...i TOTALLY AGREE!. I 've seen thousands of movies and hundreds of comedies... the best they got from was "smiles"...well this one made the difference!
Topsy-Turvy (1999)
ONLY for operetta/opera/musical lovers.
Mike Leigh is one of my favorite directors and his "Naked" is one of my favorite too.But i think that "Topsy-Torvy" is extremely boring and uninteresting for someone who doesn't like opera. The movie lasts about 3 hours and half of it is full parts of the "Micado"
I give it a 4 out of 10.
The Girl on a Motorcycle (1968)
Don't see it...
Well, i heard that this movie in its original version is x-rated,maybe that is its strong point. I saw the cut version, and it SUCKS!
La guerre est finie (1966)
Great acting , but quite meaningless story
While i was watching this movie i was feeling that it would get very interesting. But as the minutes were passing i felt more and more sleepy, nothing interesting was happenning, till the sudden end came....lucky me. Maybe that film is going to be nice for Spanish people...who knows.....
