Interesting...
Just to reiterate, even with Jessica, Mike, and Rachel gone, and all the negative viewer feedback that Season 8 has received, I still believe SUITS is one of the best things on television and one of my all-time favorite TV Dramas.
That said, my personal sentiments about the characters have shifted a bit. Katrina has grown on me as has Brian, I like Alex and Samantha, Harvey is great but less than with Mike, the Louis-Sheila-Lipschitts is almost ALWAYS a hit, I'm not too crazy about Robert Zane, and the most disappointing is Donna. I don't root for her anymore like I used to. In fact I find myself wanting her knocked off her high horse and humbled. She used to be such a character to root for and watch but now she seems arrogant, entitled, and too pretentious for me. Her sense of superiority and sageness was fine when it was on the down-low and she was like a behind the scenes Queen Solomon. But now that it's in-your-face out in the open, it feels egotistic, high and mighty, and bossy. If she doesn't get knocked down a peg or two soon and show some vulnerability, she'll be more liken to be the "bad guy". You can't have a total ensemble of top dogs, can you ?
Speaking of that, where is Gretchen ? Perhaps Gretchen is the new Donna and Donna is the new __________. You fill in the blank. : )
The other thing is the language. I've heard some other people mention this also. An occasional F-bomb for dramatic effect can work but I'm not seeing the need for it in every episode. What's the deal ? It just makes you wonder what the writers/directors are thinking, if they really believe that kind of thing is necessary.
