Ginny & Georgia star Sara Waisglass experienced this once, and she took to TikTok recently to share the story. Unfortunately for Waisglass, the fan encounter happened during a “very intimate” check-up at a doctor’s office.

Exclusive: Comic book and graphic novel publisher Idw has unveiled nine new original comic book projects set for release beginning in July as part of a new initiative. While the focus is on creating new comic book IP, following publishing of the comics, the Idw Entertainment Group will work to potentially develop the IP for film, television and other entertainment mediums the way the company has done in the past with such titles as Wynonna Earp and Locke & Key.
Reflecting genres including crime thriller, supernatural horror, science fiction and epic fantasy, the projects hail from New York Times bestselling authors, top industry artists and writers, as well as newcomers, including Scott Snyder, G. Willow Wilson and Stephen Graham Jones, among others. Additionally, Idw has additional projects underway for 2023 and beyond, including a comic book series by Academy Award–winning director, screenwriter, novelist, and showrunner John Ridley and several original graphic novels aimed at middle grade and YA audiences.
Beginning with Scott Snyder’s Dark Spaces: Wildfire in July (see details below), Idw will be publishing the projects monthly.
“A year ago we gave ourselves a mission: to make Idw the destination for premier talent and rising stars,” says Mark Doyle, editorial director of Originals. “This is an unprecedented moment in Idw’s history, and there’s been a tremendous team effort from our creative and editorial teams and everyone at the company to develop a stellar slate of original stories—and we’re having a blast doing it!”
Here is a trailer for Idw’s new initiative:
“Throughout our history, Idw has provided a supportive environment for passionate creators to pursue their artistic vision, taking form as such beloved titles as 30 Days of Night, Locke & Key, V Wars, Canto, October Faction, and Wynonna Earp, just to name a few,” says publisher Nachie Marsham. “Our new Originals editorial division, spearheaded by Mark Doyle, reflects our commitment to building upon that legacy. More than ever before, we are reaching out to the creative community, welcoming fresh ideas that span a diverse range of genres, and offering audiences wild new worlds to explore.”
The first nine projects are:
Dark Spaces: Wildfire, a thriller series written by Scott Snyder with art by Hayden Sherman, follows a group of female inmate firefighters deep into the smoldering California hills, where their desperate heist of a burning mansion will lead them to the score of a lifetime…or a deadly trap!
Trve Kvlt, a five-issue miniseries written by Scott Bryan Wilson with art by Liana Kangas, introduces Marty Tarantella, a down-on-his-luck loser whose last-ditch scheme to escape a lifetime of fast-food service sets him on a collision course with a cult of violent, Devil-worshiping lunatics!
Crashing, a five-issue miniseries written by Matthew Klein with art by Morgan Beem, throws open the doors of an emergency room filled with casualties of a superhuman war, where Rose Osler, a doctor on her own path of addiction and recovery, faces the most dangerous day of her medical career.
Earthdivers, an ongoing series written by Stephen Graham Jones with art by Davide Gianfelice, unites four Indigenous survivors in an apocalyptic near future as they embark on a bloody, one-way mission to save the world by traveling back in time to kill Christopher Columbus and prevent the creation of America.
Dead Seas, a six-issue miniseries written by Cavan Scott with art by Nick Brokenshire, transforms a cynical convict into a reluctant hero when he’s trapped on a sinking prison ship swarming with ghosts. Can he unite desperate criminals, pirates, and brutal guards as they try to escape a watery grave?
Golgotha Motor Mountain, a five-issue miniseries written by Matthew Erman and Lonnie Nadler with art by Ryan Lee, is a high-octane, redneck motor massacre about two meth-cooking brothers and their attempt to make it home in one piece as all manner of cosmic alien horrors are hot on their trail.
Arca, an original graphic novel written by Van Jensen with art by Jesse Lonergan, leaves a dying Earth behind as billionaires establish a luxurious new society out among the stars, tended to by teenage indentured servants. But one girl discovers that the good life promised for their years of servitude was a lie…
The Sin Bin, a six-issue miniseries written by Robbie Thompson with art by Molly Murakami, hits the road with washed-up hockey player Dale “Dukes” Duquesne, who moonlights as a monster hunter during away games with his daughter, Cat, in tow, hoping to find her mother’s killer.
The Hunger and the Dusk, a twelve-issue storyline written by G. Willow Wilson with art by Chris Wildgoose, upends an age-old conflict between humans and orcs by introducing a new, deadlier species. Fragile alliances form—and unexpected romances blossom—as former enemies wade into battle together to save their two races.

NBC's latest Canadian import, Nurses, continues tonight at 10/9c.
Nurses Season 1 Episode 2 finds a guest of honor at a St. Mary’s fundraiser collapsing, and Grace grappling with the patient’s refusal to tell her family her secret.
Ashley confronts Grace about her own secret, and we have an exclusive first look at the scene in which Grace reveals she was sexually harassed by a man in a position of power.
The clip shows Grace revealing all to Ashley, but it's clear that Grace is not impressed with Ashley meddling in her life.
Grace tells Ashley that Dr. Hamilton could not keep his hands to himself, no matter how she tried to avoid him.
Ashley seems shocked when she learns the truth, but Grace does not want to hear it.
It's poised to be a big moment between the characters, but it seems like the revelation pushes them further apart.

No studio or production company has been immune to the devastating financial effects of the Coronavirus pandemic, and that even includes an outfit like Netflix who always appeared to have a bottomless supply of cash. The streaming service have been nothing short of ruthless this year, wielding the axe like Jack Nicholson in The Shining to remove a huge number of original shows from the schedule.
The majority of the titles to bite the dust have been canned after just one season, which includes but is in no way limited to, I Am Not Okay With This, The Society, Away, Teenage Bounty Hunters, The Big Show Show, V Wars and October Faction. Altered Carbon and The Order, meanwhile, managed to get two runs under their respective belts, while the acclaimed Glow already had one episode of season 4 shot and in the can before the massively popular drama was also kicked to the curb.

Netflix‘s 2020 cancellation spree has claimed yet another victim, and the axe continues swinging with alarming regularity across the streaming service’s wide range of original output. One minor positive is that The Order managed to last for two seasons before getting canned, a claim that can’t be made by the likes of I Am Not Okay With This, The Society, Away, Teenage Bounty Hunters, The Big Show Show, V Wars, October Faction and many others that have been pulled from the platform this year.
Created by longtime television veteran Dennis Heaton, the teen-skewing fantasy show with horror and supernatural elements followed a college student who joins a secret society that practices magic. Of course, our handsome protagonist eventually stumbles upon a wide-ranging conspiracy full of dark secrets that threaten the very fabric of reality, while there’s also the requisite amount of romance and some werewolves thrown in for good measure.

The financial implications of the Coronavirus pandemic have had a massive effect on the film and television industry, and even with what appears to be a bottomless supply of cash, Netflix have shown that they’re far from immune. Netflix have been nothing short of ruthless when it comes to wielding the axe this year with a huge volume of shows being canceled, including established favorite Glow, which was widely regarded as one of the streaming service’s finest in-house originals. New projects have been especially vulnerable and I Am Not Okay With This, The Society, Teenage Bounty Hunters, The Big Show Show, October Faction and V Wars are just some of the recent titles to have bitten the dust after a single season.
Big budget sci-fi Away is the latest to be canceled, which came as a surprise when reports had been making the rounds that the show had actually been renewed. Not only that, but it featured heavily in the Top 10 most-watched list for a number of weeks, but because nobody seems entirely sure how Netflix determine whether or not something is worth continuing, speculation instantly turned to the budget.

Netflix has produced many hit TV shows over the past seven years, ever since they started pumping out their own original programming. However, the streaming service has developed a reputation for not letting its series go on for too long. Fans know to be wary of getting attached to their favorite new Netflix shows as they could be unceremoniously cancelled after one or two seasons.
Earlier today, for instance, Hilary Swank vehicle Away was given the chop by the company after just a single outing. This makes it the 56th original series that Netflix has cancelled. That number only includes shows that were original to the platform and produced in-house, so it doesn’t count pick-ups like Lucifer, for example. Those series luckily enough to end on the creators’ own terms, such as House of Cards, are likewise not included. Shows that were axed by Netflix before being picked up elsewhere,...

Despite largely giving their original shows the benefit of the doubt and allowing them to grow an audience over time, Netflix have been nothing short of ruthless when it comes to wielding the axe this year. Clearly, even the world’s biggest and most popular streaming service isn’t immune to the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic, and a huge number of in-house projects have bitten the dust.
Teenage Bounty Hunters, V Wars, October Faction, The Big Show Show, The Society and I Am Not Okay With This were all canned after one season, despite the latter two initially being renewed. Fan favorites Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Altered Carbon were also pulled from the schedule, and the cancellation of Glow proved that not even Netflix’s most critically acclaimed projects are safe anymore.
However, it isn’t all doom and gloom, as two popular shows have reportedly been renewed for further episodes.

It’s fair to say that Chris Mark didn’t have a whole lot to do in The Boys’ Season 2 as Blindspot! At least, it doesn’t look like we’ll see him pop up again any time soon.
Mark is a prolific and respected stunt performer and fight choreographer, who you’ve probably already seen in a bunch of things to date. Though the Canadian actor’s speaking roles are less common, he recently appeared as Yuuto Murakami in Netflix’s October Faction and as Bruce Lee in Hulu’s Future Man, but it’s as a stuntman that he’s notched up most of his credits in the likes of Suicide Squad, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, Pacific Rim and Star Trek Beyond.

Dwayne Johnson, Issa Rae, and Dany Garcia are set to executive produce a half-hour series in development at HBO about the creation of a backyard wrestling promotion, Variety has learned exclusively.
The project is currently titled “Tre Cnt” (a.k.a “Tre Count”) and hails from writer Mohamad El Masri. The series focuses on Cassius Jones, a young dock worker and struggling pro-wrestler, who uses inherited life-insurance money for start-up cash and the deed to a shotgun house from his grandfather to start a hip-hop centric backyard wrestling empire in Houston’s Third Ward (The Tre) with the help of his working-class family, neighbors, and friends.
El Masri is an executive producer on the project in addition to writing. Judah Miller will executive produce and serve as showrunner. Johnson and Garcia will executive produce along with Hiram Garcia under their Seven Bucks Productions banner. Rae and Montrel McKay will executive produce via Issa Rae Productions.

Sometimes it’s hard to figure out why some shows get to stay and others get the ax but with October Faction and V-Wars it might actually be that critics are the ones behind it since the fans have been more than a little positive concerning the two Netflix shows and it’s a bit obvious that they’d like to see them come back. Many times when a show is canceled, as mentioned by Tom Chatalbash of Screenrant, it’s because there’s simply no demand for it and as anyone can guess, if fans aren’t into it then there’s no reason to keep

Netflix is usually the good guy when it comes to saving shows. For example, they picked up Lucifer after it was cancelled by Fox and even if their original content has a rough first season, they’ll often give it a second to see if it picks up a fanbase or improves. That said, they’re not always a soft touch: the critically acclaimed yet little-watched Marianne didn’t get a second season, so they do have limits. Now, it seems they’re bringing down the hammer once again, as vampire sci-fi V-Wars and supernatural drama October Faction just got cancelled.
While Netflix generally doesn’t release viewing figures to the public, neither show was received particularly well by critics. So we can probably assume that the audience wasn’t what the network had hoped for. Even so, these shows had fans and they’re not happy at the news,...

If the quarantine is making your days gloomy, then Netflix might be able to brighten things up with Outer Banks.
Outer Banks is a coming of age story that follows a tight-knit group of local teens (the “Pogues”) in the beach vacation destination of the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
When a hurricane kills the power for the summer season, it sets off a chain of illicit events that force the friends to make life-altering decisions.
The search for their ringleader’s missing father, forbidden romances, a high-stakes treasure hunt, and the escalating conflict between the Pogues and their rivals turn their summer into one filled with mystery and adventure they’ll never forget.
Based on the first trailer alone, it looks like On My Block meets Looking for Alaska, with a sun-soaked backdrop, and lots of drama to boot.
The cast includes Chase Stokes as John B, Rudy Pankow as J.

We hope you weren’t getting too invested in V-Wars or October Faction…
The two Netflix original series – which premiered on December 5th and January 23rd, respectively – have officially been canned by the online streaming giant, and will now join the likes of Messiah, Aj and the Queen, Spinning Out, Soundtrack and Daybreak in the Netflix graveyard.
It’s a sudden change of fate for both original series, given they’ve only just been released into the wild. But as The Hollywood Reporter notes, Netflix has now pulled the plug on each of them, quashing any hopes for a second season of V-Wars. Or indeed the comic book-inspired October Faction.
The former series starred Vampire Diaries favorite Ian Somerhalder, who played the part of Dr. Luther Swann. Somerhalder’s brooding character gets a front-row seat to the end of days, after a mysterious disease transforms his best friend, Michael Fayne,...

Two of Netflix’s freshman drama series will not see a second season. The streaming giant has canceled vampire drama series V Wars starring Ian Somerhalder, based on Jonathan Maberry’s bestselling book, and October Faction, based on the Idw comics by Steve Niles, Deadline has confirmed.
V Wars, published in 2012 by Idw Publishing, debuted as a collection of prose stories that chronicles the first Vampire War. Somerhalder starred as Dr. Luther Swann, who enters a world of untold horror when a mysterious disease transforms his best friend, Michael Fayne, into a murderous predator who feeds on other humans. As the disease spreads and more people are transformed, society fractures into opposing camps pitting normal people against the growing number of these “vampires.” Swann races against time to understand what’s happening, while Fayne rises to become the powerful underground leader of the vampires.
