With Walton Goggins becoming the internet's newest man-crush following his turn as Cooper Howard/Ghoul in the Fallout TV series, fans are also ready for his return in The Righteous Gemstones.
Unfortunately, The Righteous Gemstones Season 4 doesn't premiere until later this year or early next year.
While we wait, we've rounded up some of the funniest scenes from The Righteous Gemstones to scratch that itch (and remind us of just how over-the-top this show can be!)
This is a show that pulls no punches. Everything is on the table, and nothing is off-limits.
The Righteous Gemstones finds its comedy footing by injecting hilarity into otherwise serious moments—a juxtaposition that tickles our funny bones and leaves us wanting more.
Some scenes have us belly-laughing while others have us covering our faces in secondhand embarrassment, but either way, this show knows funny.
Here are, in our humble opinion, the funniest scenes...

"Vanishing Point" isn't exactly a mainstream classic, but for a portion of moviegoers who like to see cars go fast and people do drugs, it's pretty much unmissable. Based on that description alone, it makes sense that the cult film's audience grew when it was directly referenced in Quentin Tarantino's 2007 road slasher film "Death Proof." Other directors who are major fans of the film include Edgar Wright and Steven Spielberg, who once told Entertainment Weekly it was one of his favorite movies.
The 1971 film didn't feature many stars, but did include a handful of actors who would become famous for other projects in the years following the film. Cleavon Little, who played radio DJ Super Soul in the film, went on to star in Mel Brooks' "Blazing Saddles" three years later, while actress Charlotte Rampling, who was Oscar nominated for her work in "45 Years" in 2016, apparently appeared as...

The reimagined Exorcist franchise has faced a significant setback, with Universal and Blumhouse currently on the hunt for a new director following David Gordon Green’s departure from the sequel to The Exorcist: Deceiver. Green is opting to focus on his other projects, including the production of Nutcrackers starring Ben Stiller and season four of HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones. David Gordon Green stepped away from the franchise after directing last year’s The Exorcist: Believer. Despite Universal’s substantial $400 million investment, the film was a major letdown, garnering only $136.2 million globally. As a result, fans are eagerly anticipating how Mike Flanagan

Kristen Johnston will star alongside Leanne Morgan in the latter’s upcoming Netflix comedy series, Variety has learned.
The untitled multi-cam comedy was picked up at Netflix in April with a 16-episode order. Morgan co-created the series with Susan McMartin and Chuck Lorre. The role marks a reunion for Lorre and Johnston, as Johnston previously appeared in the CBS multi-cam “Mom,” which Lorre also co-created.
The official description for Morgan’s series states: “Leanne’s life takes an unexpected turn when her husband of 33 years leaves her for another woman. Starting over when you’re a grandmother and in menopause isn’t exactly what she had in mind, but with the help of her family she will navigate this new chapter with grace, dignity and jello salad.”
Johnston will star in the series regular role of Carol, Leanne’s sister. The character is said to be Leanne’s complete opposite.

Renowned genre filmmaker Mike Flanagan (The Life of Chuck) is in talks to direct the next Exorcist film for Blumhouse and Universal Pictures, sources have confirmed to Deadline.
Uni and Blumhouse declined comment. Should a deal make, Flanagan would take over the reins from David Gordon Green, who exited the rebooted franchise back in January. Universal and Blumhouse bought rights to The Exorcist from Morgan Creek back in July 2021 for $400M, and while the plan at that point was for at least three new films to be made, it’s unclear whether Flanagan would be on for more than one.
Starring Leslie Odom Jr. as well as franchise veteran Ellen Burstyn, trilogy launcher The Exorcist: Believer fell beneath expectations when it opened to a soft $26.4M domestic last October, going on to gross $65.5M U.S./Canada, $136.2M WW.

This post contains spoilers for "Fallout" season 1.
In its first season, Prime Video's adaptation of the hugely popular video game series "Fallout" follows several heroes and villains who are still working to understand what's real in their worlds. Walton Goggins' movie star character, Cooper Howard, slowly comes to realize that America is making up an apocalypse to sell back to itself, while Brotherhood of Steel squire Maximus quickly learns that the powerful men he idolized as a kid aren't all they're cracked up to be. It's Ella Purnell's Vault-dweller Lucy, though, who gets the biggest reality check when she leaves her underground dwelling to explore a ruthless world with no place for the chipper sense of entitlement she was taught to convey.
Given the themes of the series, it's fitting that it's just as hard to tell what's real and what's not behind-the-scenes of "Fallout" as it is in front of the camera.

Yesterday, The Wrap had the scoop on who would play Jonathan Kent in James Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie, and now they’ve got the inside story on Martha Kent as well. The outlet reports that Neva Howell has been cast as Martha Kent in Superman, joining Pruitt Taylor-Vince as Jonathan Kent. Together, the pair are the human adoptive parents of Clark Kent.
As with Taylor-Vince as Jonathan Kent, Neva Howell will be the latest in a long line of actors who have played Martha Kent in movies and television, including Phyllis Thaxter in the original Superman movie, Annette O’Toole in Smallville, Eva Marie Saint in Superman Returns, and Diane Lane in Man of Steel. Howell’s credits include Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Long Haul, Logan Lucky, October Sky, and more.

According to The Wrap, Pruitt Taylor-Vince has been cast as Jonathan Kent in James Gunn’s Superman. I can’t say that’s who I expected to play Clark Kent’s adoptive human father in the movie, but I’ve always been a big fan of the actor, who has appeared in everything from The X-Files to Deadwood to The Walking Dead.
Pruitt Taylor-Vince will join the long line of actors who have brought Jonathan Kent to life in movies and television, including Glenn Ford in the original Superman movie, John Schneider in Smallville, Kevin Costner in Man of Steel, and many more. As I mentioned above, Taylor-Vince might not feel like the obvious choice for the role, but he’s a true talent and I hope fans give him a chance.

Get ready to taste it all over again. James Gunn took to Instagram over the weekend to confirm that Peacemaker season 2 is now filming its first episode, which he later clarified was a Saturday “pre-shoot.“

A post shared by James Gunn (@jamesgunn)
Just like the first season, James Gunn has written every episode of Peacemaker season 2, but he won’t be able to direct as many this time around as he’s in the midst of directing Superman. “Yes, I’ve written all the episodes; but, no, in the interest of getting the show out there I won’t be able to direct them all (only some),” Gunn said last month. He added that that will be “three other great directors joining me for the season.“

When The Last of Us debuted early in 2023, I began my rave review by saying, “Among the many compliments I can give HBO’s The Last of Us is that it eventually made me forget that it’s based on a video game.” Some gamers took this as both a backhanded compliment for the show and a blanket dismissal of the artistry of video games. But the point I argued then, and would argue now, is that the demands of an interactive game are fundamentally different from the demands of...

When you first see The Ghoul in “Fallout,” the most pronounced feature of Walton Goggins’ character is what’s missing. Just under the brim of his weathered cowboy hat and just above his wrinkled upper lip — you know, where his nose should be — there isn’t one. You can see the narrow nostril-dividing tissue, but there are no nostrils to divide. Instead, there’s just an A-shaped hole in his face. A cavity. An absence. So even though it’s obvious the handsome charmer from “Justified” is there, buried under a pound of latex, Prime Video viewers may not realize the physical demands of a role visibly defined by what’s been removed.
“I can’t see so well. I mean, I could see, but your periphery is gone,” Goggins said in an interview with IndieWire. “I’ve got these things over my teeth, so it’s hard to talk.

Danny McBride and friend David Gordon Green were sitting around Rough House Pictures in South Carolina and spitballing about about improvements they might make to the movie-going experience.
In a GQ interview, McBride revealed he hates the modern-theater-that-serves-dinner trend. “I hate it, I can’t stand it,” he said. “I also don’t think it makes sense to combine booze with movies. You’re going to have to piss. Doesn’t alcohol make you want to get up and get loose? You don’t want to sit there, drink beer, and just be quiet. I would have no interest in going to see a movie and just pounding IPAs. Just f**king falling asleep.”

HBO has given a pilot order to the comedy “The Chair Company” from Tim Robinson and Zach Kanin, Variety has confirmed.
Both Robinson and Kanin serve as writers and executive producers on the pilot, with Robinson also set to star. Adam McKay and Todd Schulman will also executive produce via Hyperobject Industries, which is under an overall deal at HBO.
The logline for the series states, “After an embarrassing incident at work, a man (Robinson) finds himself investigating a far-reaching conspiracy.”
Kanin and Robinson are frequent collaborators, beginning with their time together on the writing staff of “Saturday Night Live.” They then went on to co-create the popular Comedy Central series “Detroiters” with Sam Richardson and Joe Kelly (with Robinson and Richardson starring) and the Netflix sketch comedy series “I Think You Should Leave” (with Robinson also starring). Fallout is the most exciting Amazon Original dropping this month. From Westworld creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, this long-awaited adaptation of the popular video game franchise looks incredible, and is bound to be a hit among video game fans and newcomers alike. At this year’s SXSW, a small corner of Austin was transformed into the world of Filly from the upcoming Prime Video show Fallout, adapted from the popular video game franchise by Bethesda Studios. At the activation, we met some of the cast and crew behind the show and asked them everyone’s burning questions about the highly anticipated series.
One of the exciting things about Fallout compared to other video game adaptations is that it presents a new story with entirely new characters. This will allow the show to give something new to viewers, whether or not they are familiar with the games.
Actor Aaron Moten, who plays Maximus, a squire of the Brotherhood of Steel, said about the show’s approach: “I think it’s exciting because whether you’re the greatest fan of the amazing video game series or you’re new to it, I think we...

M. Emmet Walsh, the familiar character actor in Blade Runner, Blood Simple, Best Picture Oscar winner Ordinary People, Knives Out, My Best Friend’s Wedding, Slap Shot and more than 200 other films and TV shows spanning a half-century, died Tuesday, his rep said. He was 88.

Very sad news today as it’s been reported that M. Emmet Walsh has died at the age of 88. No matter the size of the role, the prolific character actor always made a unique impression throughout his long career, which spanned six decades.
M. Emmet Walsh is best known for playing Bryant in Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner, the captain of the Los Angeles Police Department who tasks Deckard with tracking down the replicants at the beginning of the film. He told THR that the cast and crew weren’t quite sure what the make of the movie when they first saw it. “I don’t know if I really understood what in the hell it was all about,” Walsh said. “We all sat there and it ended. And nothing. We didn’t know what to say or to think or do! We didn’t know what in the hell we had done!

Universal Pictures and Peacock forked over an amount somewhere in the range of $400 million to acquire the rights to distribute a trilogy of sequels to the 1973 classic The Exorcist, which we’re going to another collaboration between Blumhouse Productions and directed David Gordon Green (who recently delivered a trilogy of Halloween sequels), they were definitely expecting the first entry in the new trilogy to go over better with audiences than The Exorcist: Believer did when it was released last October. (You can read our 4/10 review Here.) The box office numbers were okay, the movie pulled in $137 million on a $30 million budget, but Universal was hoping for a lot better than “okay,” and the reactions were largely negative. Soon after the release of Believer, we heard that Universal and Blumhouse still intended to carry out the trilogy, but the follow-ups would be reworked. Harry's humanity is showing on Resident Alien Season 3 Episode 4 when he falls in love for the first time in his human form.
We all know what it's like to fall in love.
The feeling is almost euphoric, and nothing else in your life seems even remotely important anymore.
When tasked with saving the world, that lapse in your attention span can be problematic.
Luckily, everyone in Harry's orbit just talked right over his need to talk about nothing but love.
Resident Alien has so much to say about humanity and its oddities, but we had no idea if we'd ever get to explore love. Harry has been singularly focused on two things: Earth and feeling his way around his human form.
Harry Vanderspeigel wants to right his wrongs by saving Earth and the humans he's come to cherish, and he wants to do it while enjoying every piece of pizza...

It’s likely only a matter of time before Dave Bautista officially joins the Dcu, but who should he play? James Gunn took that very question to fans over on Threads, and there were quite a few interesting responses.
One of the most popular responses suggested that Dave Bautista play Hugo Strange in the Dcu, the scientist and criminal mastermind who was one of Batman’s first recurring villains. Another popular choice was Mongul, the tyrannical ruler of Warworld who can go toe-to-toe with Superman. Other comments suggested that Bautista would be perfect for characters such as Darkseid, Bane, Kilowog, Mr. Freeze, Atrocitus, or even Bibbo Bibbowski.
