Storyline
Did you know
- GoofsThere was no need for the panic, or the graphic description of gastric symptoms. It takes a few hours to a few days for botulism symptoms to begin so (assuming it was possible to contract botulism in the way shown in the first place) there was plenty of time to begin treatment with a presumptive diagnosis and test for botulinum without risking any lives. Also botulism causes paralysis, vomiting and bowel issues aren't the primary or most common symptoms, and they aren't fatal. (They're also signs of regular food poisoning, so not a lot of use in identifying botulism.) The important symptoms are the early signs of paralysis, which start in the head and move down the body. Eyelids droop, facial muscles go slack, speech is slurred, swallowing and breathing become difficult.

Sung at the karaoke session after Joy's funeral
Featured review
Episode 3.2
Spirits are low after Joy's funeral. Dinah gets promoted to sergeant and the whole team are after Caddy, keeping up surveillance even though they have been ordered no to.
Meanwhile Joy's killer Beckett has rung the police claiming that he has poisoned a batch of halal meat. It turns out that Paddy, the owner of the halal slaughterhouse was offering non-halal meat.
Viv realises that this was an attempt to stretch police resources as well as creating community tensions.
The Mayor Hassan tells Viv that Dirkin had offered to buy the police force and replace them with his right wing goons. The Mayor resisted it but Viv does not realise that his rival in the elections may not be so obstructive.
The Dirkin bit of privatising the police force is a rather far fetched element in the story. It might had worked better if a private contractor would bolster community policing with additional patrols.
The third series again has more interest than series 2. It takes on the alt right agenda which elements of the British media has fallen for in recent years.
