Midge has a falling out with Susie. She is starting to go to parties with her department store friends, and the casual atmosphere allows her to speak freely. She is hilarious, but Susie realizes this is a dead end. She needs exposure and money, and this is not helping. Also, her father gets a high powered job and the results (with Tony Shaloub) are hilarious.

Warning: Spoilers
Episode 6: Good production value, nice setting, true "epoque" atmosphere, big acting and score, but not a pure comedy, not truly hilarious and dragging a bit, this time less though.
It doesn't quite know what it wanna do with itself, "la serie pietine", moves at its own pace, does some bright drama things along the way and in conclusion is not completely satisfying.
Quality doesn't always mean satisfaction. It lacks thrill, flow and "leaders" in its storyline.
Brosnahan shines as does the setting. The storyline plots not so much.

Pay attention you are watching a comedy that wants to tell you something that is not true and we see the truth in the real world is different from these things and I can't tell what is it, you're gonna find it yourself. But watching a shallow comedy, with emphasize on people connections and communications like our everyday life can be a waste of time.
You can see many useless dialogues in this series that maybe is just for passing the series time. Despite of some good acts, and delightful scenes visually, we can see a common storyline that binds some history and real past people and comedians to fictional happenings and people.
