DEATH GAME is a very poor shot-on-video action thriller from director Gregory Hatanaka, the man responsible for the equally bad SAMURAI COP 2. This one's a story about a black cop (touches of the blaxploitation genre here), a real hard-ass, hunting a serial killer through the mean streets. Other than cameos from George Lazenby and Laurene Landon, DEATH GAME has very little to recommend it. The staging is utterly lame and unconvincing with green screen effects abounding and there's little action or intent. The attempts at hard-boiled dialogue are quite laughable.
