Exclusive: BBC Three has greenlit a Eurovision-themed animation, its first in two decades.
Galaxy Dance is the youth-skewing RuPaul’s Drag Race UK network’s first animated show since Harry Thompson and Shaun Pye’s irreverent sketch series Monkey Dust, which ran from 2003 to 2005.
Galaxy Dance is set amid Eurovision 2989, with the interstellar dance competition seeing a myriad of alien groups and Earth’s human band competing for a prize fund so gigantic it could save the planet from extinction. The only issue is that Earth is on a notorious losing streak and ‘Galaxy Dance’ is the fiercest contest in the Milky Way. Enter Doyle, Jane and their team of misfits with nothing more to lose.
Starring Liam Bixby (Wreck), Lisa Dwyer Hogg (Dance First) and Mukamajulé Michelo (The Lovers), the one-off is expected to air around Eurovision. Developed by Unreal Engine tech, it is being produced by HaZimation and...

For the BBC, spooky mystery format The Traitors is the gift that keeps on giving.
While BBC One’s UK version proved an outsized hit and ratings bonanza, the U.S. version’s premiere has just become the most-watched show on the relaunched BBC Three linear network.
With 1.2M consolidated viewers over the past two weeks, the opening episode, titled The Game is Afoot, sits atop the BBC Three charts, according to Barb data supplied by Liam Hamilton.
Separately, the U.S. version, which airs on Peacock and was acquired from All3 Media International, has also been available to watch in full on BBC iPlayer since the start of last month.
Hosted by Alan Cumming, the U.S. version differs from the UK’s in that it mixes a number of reality TV icons with non-celebrities. Having become the most-watched Peacock reality series, it was greenlit for a second season...

Exclusive: Susie Dark, the chief operating officer of Fremantle UK-owned Naked TV, is leaving the company after more than five years.
Dark has been instrumental in growing Naked, working alongside founder Simon Andreae, the former Fox head of alternative entertainment, since the company was established in 2015. She is stepping down after Naked was fully acquired by Fremantle in February 2020.

UTA has signed Queen Latifah and her production company Flavor Unit Entertainment. The Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning actor-musician-producer is coming off Universal’s big hit comedy Girls Trip, which made more than $140 million worldwide; the cast has a deal to return for a sequel but no greenlight yet from the studio.
Flavor Unit, founded by Latifah and business partner Shakim Compere, has produced award-winning films including Beauty Shop, The Perfect Holiday, Just Wright and Bessie, as well as HBO’s Life Support. More recently, Latifah and Compere produced The Real Mvp: The Wanda Pratt Story, The Best Place to Be, Curvy Style with Timothy Snell, The Perfect Match and The Rap Game.
Latifah has six Grammy Award nominations and won in 1995 for Best Rap Album. Currently, she appears on Lee Daniels’ Star.
She had been at CAA and continues to be repped by Compere, attorney Stuart Levy and Randi Michel.

Lifetime’s The Rap Game is set to be remade in the UK after Simon Andreae’s Naked Entertainment optioned the rights.
Andreae’s FremantleMedia-backed indie is remaking the show as The Grime Game (w/t) and has set it up with an established, as-yet-unannounced British grime star to play the sale role as host Jermaine Dupri does in the U.S. version.
It will see a raft of talented MCs compete for record deal. However, it has no eliminations and is shot like a documentary. The U.S. version, which launched in 2016, has been a big success for the A+E Networks brand, scoring the channel’s biggest share of 18-34 year olds and featuring the likes of Queen Latifah, Ludacris and Usher.
Naked Entertainment’s Director of Development Tom O’Brien said, “Chart topping. Brit award winning. And spun from young people’s real-life stories. Grime is one...

Scream season 3 is still alive. Brett Matthews is the new showrunner, and Queen Latifah is an executive producer...
It’s not often you see a non-anthology show go for a full reboot in its third season. But, after a leadership shakeup, MTV believes it has gone as far as it could go with the original cast of its Scream adaptation.
Last month, Deadline reported that the network was looking for a new showrunner to reset Scream with a fresh premise and cast. Now, we have the details of who is coming on board.
In a new report, Deadline has revealed that Brett Matthews (former The Vampire Diaries producer and Supernatural story editor) is Scream's new showrunner, and Queen Latifah, Shakim Compere and Yaneley Arty are coming on board as executive producers.
It remains to be seen if Queen Latifah will also appear on screen.

They all shuffle in timidly with Jermain joking: “You’re all walking slow like you’re all nervous or something!” Recalling the moment he first saw her, contestant Nova says: “Standing there is Kelly Rowland!
