Chrisley Knows Best alum, Grayson Chrisley just spent yet another big day without his mom and dad, Julie and Todd Chrisley to celebrate with him. The most recent one would have probably been a huge occasion if his parents were not serving time in federal prisons. Read on to see some photos
Grayson Chrisley Missed A Birthday and More
Last year, the youngest son of Todd Chrisley celebrated his 17th birthday without his mom and dad. And, that’s not the only event of note that slipped by without them. No wonder the Chrisley Knows Best alum often looks down when he talks with his sister, Savannah. He’s not the happy little kid that fans remember from the show.

Malum is, according to its press release “a bold and expanded reimagining of the 2014 horror cult classic, Last Shift”. Now some may simply take that as a fancy way of saying it’s a remake of a film that’s less than ten years old. But there’s a difference between this and your average remake, it’s the work of the original director Anthony Diblasi and his co-writer Scott Poiley.
I considered revisiting Last Shift before watching Malum because while I remembered the basic plot and that I really liked the first hour then being let down by the final act, I didn’t recall a lot of the details. But, in part due to how knowing what to expect spoiled the impact of another recent reimagining,...

No one can deny that Ghost Rider, the 2007 big-screen adaptation with Nicolas Cage, was a terrible superhero movie. But, it’s nothing compared to the gonzo sequel, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, which was directed by the duo Neveldine/ Taylor, who you might remember best for the Crank films. This was their big stab at making a conventional, PG-13 big studio movie, but it misfired Badly, with the film earning an even worse critical reception than its predecessor and performing even worse at the box office. So what went wrong?
In this episode of Marvel Revisited, our host Kier Gomes tries to unpack what has to be one of the most eccentric superhero movies ever made. It was produced for only half what the first movie cost and it did a few things right, such as ditching the weird wig Cage wore as Johnny Blaze in the original film. But,...

For a comic book movie franchise that has never reached the heights of most Marvel or DC films of the last two decades, "Hellboy" has remained shockingly resilient. To that end, Mike Mignola's beloved character is set for yet another big-screen reboot in the form of "Hellboy: The Crooked Man." This time around, the character will be headed back to the 1950s for a folk horror adventure based on one the most celebrated storylines from the comics.
This will be the character's first film since 2019's "Hellboy." Starring David Harbour, it proved to be a critical and commercial disaster. Be that as it may, Millennium Media is set to try to bring the character to life once again with a lower-budget take on the material. So, when will you be able to see the movie? Who is playing Hellboy? Who is directing this time around? We've got all of...

Award-winning feature documentary “Mom & Dad’s Nipple Factory” has inked a deal with Sonder Entertainment for a national theatrical tour beginning in October to coincide with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. “Mom & Dad’s Nipple Factory,” a Jubilee Production, will screen in theaters nationwide and into next year ahead of its digital release in February.
Directed by Emmy-winning filmmaker Justin Johnson, the feature documentary tells the story of Johnson’s parents’ resilience in the face of a breast cancer diagnosis and unilateral mastectomy — which unexpectedly leads them to launch a novel homespun prosthetic nipple business. They hide this endeavor from their five children, church and small community.
“Mom and Dad’s journey, filled with love, humor, and ingenuity amidst adversity, has blossomed into a project that has already touched thousands of hearts in our festival run. I’m excited to partner with Sonder Entertainment to share this poignant yet humorous film with audiences nationwide,...

In a career full of characters that range from quirky to downright unhinged, "Moonstruck" is one of Nicolas Cage's tenderest roles. Cage's performance as the impassioned baker Ronny Cammareri channels the actor's eccentricities into charm. The film was released in 1987 (with a wide release in January 1988) during a couple of months after his Coen brothers hit "Raising Arizona," gaining critical acclaim and solidifying Cage as one of the most interesting personalities for a romantic lead. However, the actor had to deal with people re-enacting a popular, particularly physical scene.
Cage would become even more famous the next decade when he won an Academy Award for "Leaving Las Vegas" and starred in a string of action films, but his momentum upward started in the late eighties. "Moonstruck" is probably more remembered for Cher's Oscar-winning performance, but the odd chemistry between the two stars provides the romantic comedy a comfortingly sweet bent.

Speaking with Collider this week, director Brian Taylor explains that Hellboy: The Crooked Man will most definitely be rated “R,” describing the project as a folk horror movie.
“I pitched an R-rated folk horror movie and the team here at Millennium have been nothing but supportive. It’s a great group of people, and they love horror,” Taylor teases.
The filmmaker continues, “…this original material is dark and scary and violent and adult. So in order to really embrace that, we just don’t wanna have any handcuffs on.”

A reboot feature of “Hellboy,” titled “Hellboy: The Crooked Man,” will begin production in March, Millennium Media announced Saturday.
Brian Taylor, who co-directed the “Crank” films and “Gamer” with Mark Neveldine and solo directed the 2017 horror comedy “Mom and Dad,” will helm the picture. Mike Mignola, the creator of the “Hellboy” comics, co-wrote the script with Chris Golden.
The story will follow Hellboy, the summoned demon turned reluctant hero, as he teams up with a rookie agent to uncover a secluded witch community in 1950s Appalachia. The script draws from the comic “Hellboy: The Crooked Man,” which debuted in July 2008.
Millennium Media first acquired the rights to the property in 2018. The banner had previously worked with Summit Entertainment to produce a 2019 feature adaptation of “Hellboy,” starring David Harbour. Casting announcements for the upcoming reboot will be made in the coming weeks.

While 2019’s Hellboy reboot definitely didn’t open the door for a franchise, Millennium Media is going to try again, with Deadline announcing Hellboy: The Crooked Man, which the company hopes will be the franchise starter the last movie wasn’t. This Hellboy reboot is set to be directed by Brian Taylor, formerly half of the directing team Neveldine/Taylor. As a pair, the directors helmed the Crank movies, while Taylor, on his own, directed the pretty decent horror flick, Mom and Dad.
Deadline reports that the new film is set to be written by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola himself, alongside frequent collaborator Chris Golden. The pair will be adapting their own graphic novel, “Hellboy: The Crooked Man,” which was a prequel set in the fifties. As per Deadline’s description:

In the wake of Guillermo del Toro’s two Hellboy movies and the 2019 reboot directed by Neil Marshall, it looks like Hellboy may be returning with a fourth live action movie sometime soon.
Discussing Film exclusively reports this week that Millennium Media is “actively developing a new live-action Hellboy film, which has already been written with a director attached.”
According to the site’s sources, Brian Taylor has been chosen to direct the upcoming movie for Millennium.
Discussing Film also reports that the project’s current working title is Hellboy: The Crooked Man, which might suggest it’s an adaptation of a comic book story from 2008.
In the 3-issue series, Hellboy confronts a minion of the devil in 1950s Appalachia.
The new movie could begin filming as soon as April in Bulgaria, the site also notes.

Most families aren’t perfect, right? Every now and then, kids and their parents find it almost impossible to compromise with each other for quite a few reasons, and it creates tension that’s just a matter of growing up and getting used to each other. But there are always those times when parents and their children look at each other in ways that make it clear that something is brewing beneath the lackadaisical manner some families exhibit so regularly. In this movie, that feeling is taken to an extreme as mothers and fathers actively seek to murder their children due to

Nicolas Cage has had enough of the press taking shots at him for his era of straight-to-vod movies. The Oscar winner had a string of theatrical flops around 2014, including duds such as “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” and “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance,” and so his career pivoted almost exclusively to VOD titles like “The Runner,” “Pay the Ghost,” “The Trust” and more. Anyone who claimed Cage didn’t care about his career during this era was dead wrong.
“People thought I didn’t care. I did. I was caring,” Cage recently told Rolling Stone. “I think that I did some of the best work of my life in that so-called ‘direct to video’ period. ‘Massive Talent’ was in that group. ‘Mandy’ was in that group. ‘Pig,’ ‘Bad Lieutenant: Port of New Orleans,’ ‘Joe,’ ‘Mom and Dad,’ ‘Color Out of Space’ — they were all in that group. ‘The Runner’ I thought was terrific.

Ever since his late ‘90s heyday when he swapped chins with John Travolta in Face/Off and grew a mullet to take on John Malkovich in Con Air, Nicolas Cage has been trading off his reputation as an actor capable of delivering his own special brand of crazy to the screen.
The past five years though have seen him kick the crazy into high gear with a string of gloriously inventive movies that have one thing in common: Cage, front and center, losing his shit. “Clinical Exploitation”

There have always been what have been termed in the motion picture industry “exploitation films,” even back in the silent days. The late 1930s and much of the 1940s, however, saw a deluge of cheap, not-even-“B” pictures made, usually independently of Hollywood and marketed in guerilla fashion as “educational” adult fare. You know the type. Reefer Madness. Child Bride. Marihuana.
In the 40s, especially in the wake of World War II, the Baby Boomer phenomenon was just beginning, and there was a need for sexual hygiene education for young people—at least, that’s what the makers of these tawdry movies told the public. There most certainly was a necessity for Sex Ed in schools—and some legitimate companies stepped up to the plate to create “clinical” material shown to gender-segregated classrooms dealing with the facts of life, menstruation, and venereal disease. The “Unbearable” package includes Tom Gormican attached to direct from a script he wrote with Kevin Etten. Cage will produce via his Saturn Films banner, alongside Mike Nilon and Kevin Turen.
Cage will play a version of himself as an actor who, in need of some money and creatively unfulfilled, begrudgingly accepts a $1 million offer to attend the birthday of a Mexican billionaire super fan. When things take a wild turn, Cage is forced to become a version of some of his most iconic and beloved characters in order to extricate himself from an increasingly dangerous situation.
Cage has an extensive resume, dating back to his feature film debut in 1982’s “Fast Times at Ridgemont High,” followed by the male lead in “Valley Girl.” His early starring roles included “The Cotton Club,...

Was the only way to go on Night 2 of the Blind Auditions… down? Season 17 of The Voice started on such a high note Monday that it seemed possible, perhaps even likely. The premiere had been a big enough hoot that neither I nor quite a few of you had really noticed Adam Levine’s absence. And the talent was promising: I gave three singers A’s — and was trying hard to grade critically rather than excitedly — and really dug several more contestants that hadn’t scored as highly. (Lookin’ at you, Will Breman.) So I feared we’d been set...

Normally, we wouldn’t be here for an announcement of the next Nicolas Cage film. Let’s be real, outside of a couple recent winners, “Mom and Dad” and, of course, “Mandy,” the actor’s output still leaves something to be desired. However, Cage’s latest film not only reunites the actor with the producers behind “Mandy,” SpectreVision, on a new horror film, but it also marks the return of cult-director Richard Stanley.

Nicolas Cage is no stranger to odd films. While the Academy Award-winning actor still makes time for the occasional film about cops, robbers, or whatever action movie trope is next, Cage is perhaps best known for his more unique film choices. In 2018 alone, he starred in “Mom and Dad,” “Teen Titans Go! To The Movies,” “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” and of course, “Mandy.” The latter of which is maybe his most insane film to date.

John Waters has once again shared his 10 favorite movies of the year with Artforum, and his list is unsurprisingly eclectic. After praising the likes of “Baby Driver” and “Wonderstruck” last year, the filmmaker has singled out Bruno Dumont’s “Jeannette: The Childhood of Joan of Arc” as his #1 of 2018 while also giving love to “American Animals” and “Blindspotting.” Here’s his full list:
10) “Permanent Green Light” (Dennis Cooper and Zac Farley)
9) “Let It Fall: Los Angeles 1982-1992” (John Ridley)
8) “Sollers Point” (Matthew Porterfield)
7) “Custody” (Xavier Legrand)
6) “The Green Fog”
5) “Blindspotting” (Carlos López Estrada)
4) “Mom and Dad” (Brian Taylor)
3) “Nico, 1988” (Susanna Nicchiarelli)
2) “American Animals” (Bart Layton)
1) “Jeannette: The Childhood of Joan of Arc” (Bruno Dumont)
As ever, the filmmaker’s blurbs enliven the piece greatly. Waters calls Dumont’s film “an insanely radical heavy-metal grade-school religious pageant that is sung in French from beginning to end” whose actors “seem like they might burst out laughing,...

“Star Wars” producer Gary Kurtz died of cancer on Sunday, his family said in a statement. He was 78.
In addition to helping bring the Skywalker stories to the big screen, Kurtz produced “American Graffiti” and “The Dark Crystal.” His career was closely aligned with that of George Lucas, but the two parted ways after the troubled production of “The Empire Strikes Back.”
Kurtz had championed “Star Wars” through multiple drafts and helped Lucas navigate 20th Century Fox’s lack of enthusiasm for a movie they dismissed as a B-picture. After “Star Wars” stunned everyone by turning into a massive hit, Lucas and Kurtz sat about crafting a sequel. Lucas handed the reins over to director Irvin Kershner, but production went over schedule and Lucas was forced to dip into his own pocket to complete the movie. Kurtz stepped in to direct second-unit work on the film. When it came time...

If the slew of new characters we're going to meet in season two of 13 Reasons Why is any indication of what we're in for, the Netflix series will not disappoint. Among the new faces is Anne Winters, who will be playing Chloe, new head cheerleader and It girl of Liberty High.
The Dallas beauty has never been shy in front of the camera, appearing in her first musical at age 4. She traveled back and forth between her hometown and Los Angeles during high school for acting gigs and made the move there once she graduated. Winters has had recurring roles in TV shows like The Fosters, Wicked City, Tyrant (pictured below), and Zac and Mia. She also made appearances on Liv and Maddie.

Nicolas Cage isn’t going to be acting forever. Speaking to The Blast (via Complex), Cage revealed that he plans to retire from onscreen acting in “three or four years” because he wants to focus exclusively on directing in the next phase of his career.
“Directing is something I look forward to down the road,” Cage said. “Right now, I’m primarily a film performer and I’m gonna continue doing that for three or four more years and I’d like to focus more on directing.”
Cage only has one feature directorial effort under his belt, the 2002 crime drama “Sonny.” The movie featured Cage in a cameo appearance and starred a young James Franco in the titular role. Harry Dean Stanton and Mena Suvari appeared in the supporting cast. “Sonny” tells the story of a discharged solider who returns home to New Orleans and tries to break away from...

Though not so long ago nearly every Nicolas Cage movie was a big-budget, wide-release affair, these days his movies are mostly so low-profile you might be forgiven for not knowing he still makes ’em — let alone that he’s done some of his best-ever work very recently. The gonzo displays of blackly comedic quasi-horror pics “Mom and Dad” and “Mandy” fall into that category (though recent thriller “Looking Glass” served no one particularly well), and new Canadian feature “The Humanity Bureau” is none too shabby a showcase, either.
This dystopian road movie is very specifically set in a near-future U.S., but in character couldn’t be more Canuck: more interested in character dynamics and shaggy humor than spectacle, more picaresque than action-driven. Still, director Rob W. King and screenwriter Dave Schultz’s engaging effort has enough standard genre elements to satisfy more open-minded sci-fi fans, and its political-allegory angle...

Ladies and gentlemen, as I seem to find myself saying around this point each and every single year…time really does fly. Believe it or not, we’re now a full three months into the 2018 movie calendar, which means we’re literally a quarter of the way through the film slate for the year. Wow. That got me thinking about what the best of the bunch so far this year has been. Since now is the time when the film slate begins to transition into summer releases and counter programming independent fare ramps up, I thought it was the perfect time to praise the best of 2018 so far. Basically, anything that hit screens between January 1st and March 31st will be up for grabs here for my personal honors. Once again, here goes nothing! So far, 2018 has actually been on the stronger side of things, at least in my humble opinion.

Beyond Jerry Bruckheimer's The Rock and Con Air, here are a handful of Nicolas Cage films worth seeking out.
It’s very easy to get lost with Nicolas Cage. With ‘Cage Rage’ memes, the tales of celebrity eccentricity (remember when he turned on Bath’s Christmas lights?) and the continued fascination surrounding his unmade Superman film, you’d be forgiven for losing sight of the fact that he’s a bona fide, megawatt movie star. On March 9 he’s back with a new role in Brian Taylor’s Mom and Dad, playing a father who violently turns against his own offspring during an outbreak of parental mass hysteria.
In the hands of Crank co-director Taylor we get to see two sides of Cage: the understated everyman and the off-the-scale rage machine. It’s this kind of role, beyond the blockbuster carnage of The Rock and Con Air,...

Strangers are staring. I’m staring. “Are you disgusted that I’m letting my dog do this?” Selma asks, her face serious, her tone as drily hilarious as it has been for the past hour, even when discussing the state of Hollywood for women and her fears that she’ll never work again. Nicolas Cage stumbles through “Looking Glass” wearing an awkward goatee and a dazed expression, so disinterested in this subpar, proto-Hitchcockian thriller he seems as though he might wander out of frame at any moment. But that still doesn’t mean she was getting all the parts she wanted. “As an actress, sometimes you...
