Según Variety, Mia McKenna-Bruce (“How to Have Sex”), Helena Bonham Carter (“El Club de la Lucha”) y Martin Freeman (“Miller’s Girl”) protagonizarán la serie de Netflix “The Seven Dials Mystery”, adaptación de la novela de la aclamada autora Agatha Christie.

The latest episode of Doctor Who titled ‘Rogue’, is turning heads and shaking things up. Ncuti Gatwa’s Doctor shared a memorable kiss with Jonathan Groff’s character, Rogue. Stepping into the Regency Era The episode features actual Bridgerton choreographer Jack Murphy to give it an old-world charm. As Murphy puts it, the dance is intense, sensual, filled with moments of concealment. The scene’s dynamics are definitely resonant of classic Bridgerton. X-men '97 Scores TCA Nomination For Outstanding New Program Alongside Shogun, Ripley & Baby Reindeer
The Television Critics Association announced their picks for the best shows of the 2023-2024 TV season on Monday, and in a pleasantly surprising development, Marvel Studios' recent Disney+ series, X-Men '97, picked up two significant nominations.
The animated revival scored nominations for Outstanding New Program and Outstanding Achievement in Family Programming.
Though X-Men '97 proved to be a big hit with fans and critics alike, it's rare that an animated series - and a superhero animated series at that - would receive any TCA recognition, especially outside of the Children's Programming category.
What are the mutant heroes' chances of picking up the win? Well, the show is up against some heavy hitters such as Shōgun, Baby Reindeer and Ripley, so, fittingly, they are the underdogs here.
Former showrunner Beau DeMayo shared the following post in response to the news.

The movie, helmed by Phil Johnston, tells the tale of the despicable Mr. and Mrs. Twit, owners of the repulsive and dangerous amusement park, Twitlandia. Two courageous children, accompanied by a family of magical creatures, must outwit them to save their town.
Though Clarke is listed as a cast member, we do not know which character she will be voicing. Phil Johnston and Meg Favreau wrote the script for The Twits, which Katie Shanahan and Todd Kunjan Demong directed.

Wayne Garvie, Sony Pictures Television’s president of international production, has challenged European producers to better exploit Europe’s “treasure house of global IP”.
Speaking at Italy’s Avp Summit, Garvie said Europe has a huge depth of stories from Greek tragedies, Roman emperors, Norse gods, French musketeers, Spanish conquistadors to German fairy tales. “All of them have in various forms entertained the world for thousands of years, and each generation reinvents those stories.”
However, he noted US filmmakers are traditionally better at reinterpreting European stories for international audiences, and then capitalising on their success by building worlds and franchises around their series and characters.

Sony’s Wayne Garvie has urged the European industry to echo counterparts in the U.S. by turning TV shows into franchises.
“Once the Americans have a successful returning series they do something we Europeans seem to be incapable of – turn them into franchises,” the boss of The Crown outfit’s international productions said this morning.
Turning to his native UK, Garvie said the local industry has been “brilliant at creating non-scripted franchises but really poor in drama,” floating that Doctor Who, which is co-produced by Sony-owned Bad Wolf, is “the only example I can think of.” In the U.S., on the other hand, he flagged Sony franchises such as Cobra Kai, Breaking Bad and The Boys.

Beau DeMayo’s relationship with X-Men ’97 has certainly been an interesting one. Even though the writer and creator was heavily involved in making the series as good as it is, he was fired by Marvel Studios ahead of its premiere. Despite this, he has been very vocal in interviews and on social media about the series in the best ways possible.

He has revealed behind-the-scenes information to fans, mentioned the intentions behind certain decisions in the show, and even talked about the next season. Even though he was fired from the series, he continued to treat it as the passion project that it was for him.
Knowing this, it is not surprising that he would comment when the show hits a serious achievement in the world of Hollywood.

There's nothing quite as exciting as a good detective, even if you already know the mystery of the case. Even though there are many TV shows and movies that deal with original stories and even true crime cases, there are still some classics that viewers get attached to and jump at every adaptation.
Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes series, as well as the entire arsenal of Agatha Christie novels, are some of the most popular examples. And just like the directors continue to be interested in adapting these characters, the viewers continue to watch them. Even actors, already known for one of them, don’t mind jumping onto another.
Agatha Christie’s The Seven Dials Mystery Netflix Series
The three-part story, reimagined by Broadchurch creator and Doctor Who showrunner Chris Chibnall, is set in 1925 England, where a lavish party goes horribly wrong and the prank turns into a very real murder.

House of the Dragon’s Matt Smith is set to come back as Daemon Targaryen in the show’s upcoming second season that’s just a week away from landing on streaming, and this time the character will surely be nothing like we saw him in the first season.
Usually quite unhinged, yet still villainous and relentless in his determination to do good for his family (but mostly himself), Daemon will come back as a quiet support for Rhaenyra who is set to change her gowns and jewelry for a shield and a sword.

Warning: Contains spoilers for ‘Rogue’
This first series of Doctor Who’s latest reboot has been a lot of things — silly (‘Space Babies’), spectacular (‘The Devil’s Chord’), intense (‘Boom’), scary (‘73 Yards’), and, by the end of last week’s Black Mirror aping ‘Dot And Bubble’, pretty damn bleak even too. But not since Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson’s first outing as the Doctor and Ruby Sunday, ‘The Church On Ruby Road’, have we had an episode as outrageously fun Regency-era romp ‘Rogue’. Poured from the pens of guest writers Kate Herron and Briony Redman, this week’s adventure is good old-fashioned monster-of-the-week Who with a deliciously queer twist.
Leaving Finetime well behind, ‘Rogue’ finds the Doctor and Ruby in early 19th-century Bath, enjoying a ball at the stately mansion home of the Duchess of Pemberton (a suitably hissable Indira Varma). All britches, bodices, “You cad!” admonishments, and anachronistic...

After the latest episode of Doctor Who, viewers were happy to celebrate yet another nod to the show's diversity. The 15th Doctor, portrayed by Ncuti Gatwa, shared a kiss with Rogue, portrayed by Jonathan Groff.

The Television Critics Association announced the nominees for the 2024 TCA Awards and, surprisingly, they come with some controversy. “Baby Reindeer,” “Ripley” and “Shogun” led all programs with five nominations each. “The Bear” earned four nominations while “Fargo” took three. That being said, both “Baby Reindeer” and “Fargo” earned noms for Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Achievement in Movies, Miniseries or Specials which is utterly head-scratching.

Fresh off the printing press, Netflix has confirmed that it is launching its own Agatha Christie series titled The Seven Dials Mystery, inspired by the eponymous novel by the most famous detective author of all times. The series comes as another in a series of Agatha Christie adaptations, but it will be the first one headed by Netflix, as most of the other adaptations were helmed by either BBC or ITV, i.e., British studios. And while this series is also going to have a “British air” to it, it remains to be seen how Netflix’s production values will be transposed into this series.
Netflix does have some experience with this, as the Enola Holmes series proved to be a proper hit for the streaming service, but tackling Agatha Christie is something completely different, so it remains to be seen how it will all play out. But, based on...

Creator Chris Van Dusen told Q Voice News in 2022 that, after scratching the surface of queer representation with the story of artist Sir Henry Granville in season one, “hopefully, we’re going to be able to expand on that even more in future seasons.”
Next, 2023 prequel series Queen Charlotte told the story of Brimsley and Reynolds,...

This weekend's episode of Doctor Who, "Rogue," is generating a lot of discussion online. Why? Well, it features the franchise's first romantic same-sex kiss...and the Doctor is the one doing the smooching!
Ncuti Gatwa is the first queer actor to play the iconic sci-fi character and, with queer TV writer Russell T Davies back in charge of the series, we'd expected a trailblazing moment like this to make it into an episode sooner rather than later.
Now, it's finally happened as we see the Doctor fall in love with a man; gay actor Jonathan Groff's enigmatic Rogue.
As we first explained on SFFGazette.com, it begins with the Doctor and Ruby Sunday arriving at a Bridgerton-like ball, only for it to become clear there are alien shapeshifters causing chaos. Rogue, who many fans theorised could be the new Captain Jack (he isn't), is a bounty hunter tasked with bringing them in and,...

Doctor Who made history Saturday evening, with the Time Lord having his first ever explicitly romantic same-sex kiss on screen.
The episode, set in the British Regency period of 1813, saw Ncuti Gatwa as The Doctor team up with bounty hunter Rogue, played by Jonathan Groff. The characters were initially mistrusting of each other, but had to team up to fight the shape-shifting Chuldurs.
(Spoiler Alert!)
Mischievously flirting throughout the episode, shocking the other guests at the Regency ball with same-sex dancing, their united effort finally saw Rogue sacrifice himself to save the world, but not before he had given the Doctor a goodbye kiss.
John Barrowman’s Captain Jack briefly kissed Christopher Eccleston’s Doctor in a 2005 episode, but that encounter lacked the sexual charge of the Time Lord’s encounter with Rogue. And Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor had an implied romantic connection with her female companion Yaz (played by...

Warning: spoilers for Doctor Who series 14 episode 6 “Rogue”
Doesn’t the Tardis have a sniffer dog function? A pair of hi-tech space nostrils to which the Doctor can hold up a handkerchief or discarded glove and say ‘There, girl, get the scent!’? Somewhere on that flashy console must be the facility to scan a personal item, find the space coordinates of its owner, and bound off in pursuit, tongue out and tail wagging.
Perhaps this model only came fitted with the coffee machine as standard, because when Ruby asked if the Tardis could track down the Doctor’s latest love interest, played by Jonathan Groff, she was told no. “There are as many dimensions as there are atoms in the universe,” said the Doctor. “Don’t even know his real name.”
That makes two of them.

When the Doctor and Ruby traveled back to 1813, they risked changing time, but it seemed that time changed them instead.
Doctor Who Season 1 Episode 6 combined the new season's traditional campiness with a bona fide creepy alien story and new heartbreak for the Doctor after he's already lost so much.
The long-awaited Jonathan Groff guest spot didn't disappoint, though the story was ironically similar to one that aired on Torchwood in 2005.
Historical Stories Can Be Problematic on Doctor Who
Historical stories were originally part of the Doctor Who landscape because the series was intended to educate British schoolchildren.
These early stories were historically accurate, and the Doctor was careful never to change anything.
However, in modern Who episodes, visiting history risks accidentally altering things that should not be altered.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Doctor Who Season 1 Episode 6 “Rogue.”] “Oh my Bridgerton.” Doctor Who leans into the fun of the Netflix series with its trip to 1813, and while the Duchess (Indira Varma) may start by looking for a match for Ruby (Millie Gibson), it’s the Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) who has a fun (but heartbreaking) romance. The Doctor crosses paths with a bounty hunter Rogue (Jonathan Groff), with both thinking the other is responsible for a dead body; there are Chuldurs (shape-shifters) in their midst, and after the classic misunderstanding comes the bonding (on both their ships), almost kiss (on the Tardis), sweet moments (a dance), and heartbreaking separation (Rogue takes Ruby’s spot in a trap designed to transport the Chuldur to a random barren dimension). The presence of a character played by Susan Twist continues (this time a portrait), and we can’t help but wonder who Rogue’s new boss is,...
