Eric Kripke had originally said that he envisioned The Boys lasting “five seasons total,” but the Prime Video series was renewed for a fifth season last month, with no indication it would be the last. Plans obviously change, and while Kripke may not know when The Boys will conclude, he does have an ending in mind for when that day comes.
“You can’t build a show that’s about these two forces of Homelander and Butcher slowly closing in on each other without bringing that to a head,” Kripke told Empire. “Whenever that last episode occurs, I know what happens.” The Boys has been a big success for Prime Video, turning into a full-on franchise with various spin-offs, including Gen V, The Boys: Diabolical, and the upcoming The Boys: Mexico. As the franchise expands, Kripke says he knows how important it is “that we don’t f***ing sell out.

Every time a new season of The Boys arrives, it does so with a valid question: how can it possibly top what came last time? With each successive season, Prime Video’s satirical superhero series – in which powered-up individuals exist, and are largely monstrous people – ups the ante on its shocking scenes, gratuitous gore, and pointed political storytelling. Now, Season 4 is imminent, following the wilder-than-ever Season 3, and the debauched antics of YA spin-off Gen V – while Season 5 has already been confirmed to follow, promising more story to come in the war between Superman-alike psychopath Homelander (Antony Starr), and his human nemesis Billy Butcher (Karl Urban).
But fear not – good shows can’t last forever, and showrunner Eric Kripke has a proper ending in mind for The Boys, whenever that time arises. “You can’t build a show that’s about these two forces of Homelander and Butcher slowly closing in...

The Boys is one of the most popular superhero series in the world at this moment. The twisted take on the superhero genre, adapted from the comic book of the same name, became a major hit for Amazon Prime and a series that has pushed the boundaries of what can be shown on TV in more ways than one. The series is expecting the premiere of its fourth season in June, while its first and so far only spin-off, Gen V, is in the process of filming its second season. But, there is another spin-off project planned – The Boys: Mexico (tentative title) – but based on the most recent reports, the project is still some time away before being made into a series.
Seeing how popular the franchise is, we’re not really surprised that more spin-offs are being worked on and the only bad news here is that the Latin American spin-off,...

We're now just three weeks away from the season 4 premiere of The Boys, and Prime Video has shared a new still spotlighting the reshuffled members of the "superhero" team known as The Seven.
The updated roster (it's a running joke that there's never actually seven of them) consists of original members Homelander, The Deep, A-Train, and Black Noir (with a different character under the mask), along with two new recruits.
As you might expect, these ladies turn out to be every bit as unhinged/amoral as pretty much every other Supe that's been part of the team, but one, in particular, might be the most dangerous of all: The smartest person in the world, Sister Sage (Susan Heyward).
"It's such a funny power," showrunner Eric Kripke says of the scheming Supe in a recent interview with EW. "A lot of superhero worlds have that character. Whereas most of them are usually really reedy white dudes,...

‘The Boys: Mexico’: Showrunner Eric Kripke Says Gael García Bernal’s Spinoff Is Still “A While Away”
“The Boys” already had one successful spinoff with last year’s “Gen V,” so when will the next one show up? EW reports that it might take some time before Gael García Bernal and Diego Luna‘s “The Boys: Mexico” become official. But based on what showrunner Eric Kripke says about the series, it’ll be worth the wait.

It was announced last year that a new spin-off of The Boys was in development from Blue Beetle writer Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, with Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal set to executive produce. Dubbed The Boys: Mexico, the series is set to join the ever-growing superhero franchise, but before you start getting too excited, we’re still a long way off from seeing it on our screens.
The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke spoke with Entertainment Weekly to give an update on the spin-off series. “They are still making the deal with the writer for the pilot,” Kripke said. “He has an amazing pitch, and we all giggle and think about how fun it would be. But there are a lot of hurdles for that show before it’s a real show. He’s got to write an amazing pilot, he’s probably got to write an amazing episode 2. I think he can and he will,...

Exclusive: A longtime passion project imagined by the late Steve McQueen has been revived.
Two decades after the iconic actor’s son Chad McQueen and family friend/Warner Bros exec Lance Sloan began development on the film Yucatan, Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer has been set as the screenwriter of the project that is now in early development at Netflix, we understand. Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey remain attached as producers under their Team Downey banner.
Both Netflix and Team Downey declined to comment.
McQueen’s vision involved a story about a renegade salvage expert’s search for Mayan treasure in the Yucatan Peninsula with him taking the lead. Details regarding where Dunnet-Alcocer will take the story are under wraps. Mexican writer Dunnet-Alcocer is working fresh with McQueen’s script, which was discovered years after his 1980 death as part of a collection of notebooks he left behind in a pair of trunks.

Universal has entered into a first-look film partnership with Point Grey Pictures, the production company of Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver. The deal comes following the companies’ past work together on breakout comedy hits including the Neighbors franchise, Good Boys and Blockers.
In a statement on the pact Donna Langley, NBCUniversal Studio Group’s Chairman and Chief Content Officer, observed that “Seth, Evan and James have developed a filmmaking brand entirely their own. Whether we’re watching their stories of teenage turtles, anthropomorphic groceries, or foul mouthed sixth graders making epically bad decisions, they always manage to blend Point Grey’s signature edgy humor with humanity and heart.”
“Becoming newly anointed knights in the kingdom of Dame Donna Langley is an honour and privilege we do not take lightly,” added Rogen, Goldberg and Weaver. “We pledge to win grand box office battles alongside Peter Cramer, Erik Baiers and...
