Sorry everyone, but it looks like we won't be seeing Sarah Silverman on HBO anytime soon. Sorry to a smaller number of people as well, but the same is also true of Topher Grace. The network decided to pass on the Paul Feig–directed People In New Jersey, the comedy pilot starring Silverman and Grace as the adult children of Patti LuPone. HBO will also be "retooling" a pilot from former Late Night With Jimmy Fallon writers Diallo Riddle and Bashir Salahuddin, possibly by adding more Sarah Silverman, though we wouldn't hold our collective breath over it.

Exclusive: HBO has made decisions on half-hour comedy pilots People In New Jersey and untitled Diallo Riddle/Bashir Salahuddin. The pay cable network has decided not to go forward with People In New Jersey, written by Bruce Eric Kaplan, directed by Paul Feig and executive produced by Lorne Michaels. The project was described as a hilarious, poignant look at life today as seen through the prism of an adult brother and sister (Topher Grace, Sarah Silverman) living in New Jersey. Meanwhile, another comedy pilot exec produced by Michaels, the untitled Riddle/Salahuddin project, will be redeveloped with a production commitment, meaning that the retooled script will likely film a new pilot. Written by former Late Night With Jimmy Fallon writers/performers Riddle and Salahuddin, the project stars the duo as Bashir and Diallo, two 30-year old-reporters, as they try to make it big in the burgeoning black mecca of contemporary Atlanta,...

Sarah Silverman has recalled a disturbing experience in which she was violated while filming a sex scene for a comedy.
The actress and stand-up star, who did not name the movie she was shooting at the time, was speaking to radio DJ Howard Stern about the issue of rape in her comedy when she made the revelation.
Asked by Stern if women ever approach her and say she can't joke about the subject because she hasn't been raped, Silverman replied: "I haven't... I've had violating experiences that make me go, 'Whoa'. I never take rape lightly. I talk about the most brutal, upsetting, traumatic things and that's one of them."
When Stern asked her about being violated, Silverman said: "I've had experiences in my life... I had a brutal sex scene in something that [before] I was looking around going, 'Is there gonna be a board or something between us?'...

It's not quite the splendidly meta promo that Louis C.K. did for his own HBO special "Oh My God," but the teaser, below, for "Sarah Silverman: We Are Miracles" features a nicely self-deprecating moment with the comedian defending her Saturday, November 23rd stand-up show to a group of guys who initially cruise by to hoot at her in her knee socks, but end up making fun of the capacity of the space in which she's performing: "At Largo? That's like barely 300 seats!" This isn't the only project Silverman has going with HBO -- the acerbic stand-up was recently tapped to star alongside Topher Grace and Patti Lupone in the premium network's pilot "People In New Jersey," a half-hour comedy written by cartoonist/"Six Feet Under" writer Bruce Eric Kaplan, directed by Paul Feig and executive produced by Lorne Michaels.
