The title and characters use the word vinyl to speak of records. In fact, the word vinyl has started to be used only recently, around 2010, for this type of records and was never used before. In the 1960s, they were called, in French, 45 rpm or 33 rpm, depending on the size and speed. The older shellac records were called 78 rpm.
