Simple at heart, Vincent René-Lortie's "Invincible" is an impressively directed short film with a lot of passion. It is a vignette of the human need for freedom as told brilliantly through the final moments of the life of a teenager in a rehabilitation center.
With a terrific performance by lead actor Léokim Beaumier-Lépine, coupled with evoking cinematography and some precisely pointed direction, this Academy award nominated short film gives you more than you might have expected. It's a well made short film deserving of the praise it has gotten and is one that you should check out if you have 30 minutes to spare.
