Stemming from a 30-year vendetta between Donte' Gionni and Alexander Jiovonicci where Gionni formed an alliance with small-time, wanna be a gangster, Abramo Romano, to oust Jiovonicci;s long-time friend Carlos Dabucci.
Dabucci, a U.S. Customs worker allowed his long-time friend special treatment.
Gionni, being a rival gang and the largest gang in Chicago, wanted the same treatment and a piece of Jiovonicci's action as he watched Jiovonicci's family grow over the years because of it. But, Dabucci wasn't having it.
So, Gionni partnered with Romano and took out Dabucci. However, Dabucci had two small children; Jacqulyn, 12 and Jason, 10, whom Jiovonicci raised as his own.
Thirty years later, Jiovonicci seeks revenge, and partner's with Romano to take out Gionni and River Barnes is assigned to the case.
